Some Day Will Jesus Tell You To “Come And Share Your Master’s Happiness!’
Colossians 3:16 (NIV)
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
This message from Paul was written to a church where people congregated to worship Christ and sing together and experience gratitude together for their ability and desire to gather as the children of God. Do you choose to attend a church of your choice on a regular basis? Some reading this would like to attend a church on a regular basis, but they can no longer do so for physical reasons. If you do not have physical problems yet do not attend a church of your choice on a regular basis, it makes me wonder why! Jesus Christ attended a church (temple) on a regular basis when He walked this earth as a human being!
Do you believe that this Jesus is one hundred percent human and one hundred percent God? John wrote about the miracle of this God/Man to help us understand who He is! John refers to Jesus as the Word! In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God. He was in the beginning with God. He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn’t make. Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone. The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. (John 1:1-5 (NLT)). We are now in the Advent season, so it seems like a good time to write about the Son of man, as Jesus often referred to Himself.
The writer of Hebrews wrote about Jesus as being the replacement of the prophets, as we no longer need God to speak to us through other selected people. In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. (Hebrews 1:1-2).
We now have the Word, which is our Bible that supplies the whole account of the history of the universe. We do have those who preach the Word, which they have studied the Bible! Note here that as John referred to Jesus as the Creator stating, “He created everything there is.” The writer of Hebrews also states about Jesus as the Creator, “through whom also he made the universe.”
This same God/man who created this universe for a place for mankind to live, then He came to this earth as the perfect sacrifice needed to cover over the sins of all of us who inherited our sinful nature from that first sin, which brought death and suffering into this world. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1-2, 14 (NIV)). Our Bible tells us about this miracle of God to allow sinful people to be forgiven. It also teaches that this world is a temporary place for mankind to live on and die here.
Since this world is a temporary place, some have questioned why God is waiting so long until He destroys it and creates a new heaven and earth! Peter wrote about this time of waiting. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. (2 Peter 3:9-13).
The promises of God are numerous and encouraging, we all should study our Bibles to find them. This is a good one to start with, as it says, “in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.” If you believe the promise of salvation for our immortal soul, and if you believe Jesus Christ is who He says He is, you will end up with Jesus in heaven when it is ready for you!
Jesus promised to join with you and your brothers and sisters in Christ, every time you meet in a church of your choice. Jesus said, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:19-20). An old adage you may have heard, “the family that prays together stays together!”
We are now in the Advent Season getting ready again to look back in time to the coming of the baby Jesus being born into this cursed world to offer the perfect sacrifice to allow forgiveness of your sins, and give the promise of leaving this earth and joining Him in the Paradise of God. Jesus has already prepared your room where you can wait until the new heaven is ready for you!
Jesus told a parable in which a servant did what he was told and His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (Matthew 25:21). Are you ready to hear such a statement from Jesus, just before He tells you to go to your room, which He prepared for you in Paradise? Now that is a promise from Jesus to look forward to when your time has come!
Some day will Jesus tell you to “Come and share your master’s happiness!”’
