Jesus Will Forgive Your Sins And Forget Them And Then Treat Your Immortal Soul Like Royalty In Heaven!
Titus 2:11-13 (NIV)
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Since Jesus became the Son of man “the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.” When Jesus came onto this world remember that salvation was only being offered to God’s chosen people the Jewish people! So, this new covenant was expanding the salvation plan to also include the other people known at that time as Gentiles.
Take note too that God has always worked with one human being who has come to believe God for salvation plans to become a covenant. God started by creating Adam and Eve to start mankind’s ability through procreation to fill the earth. Then God used Noah and his family to refill the earth with mankind after the Flood. God then used Abraham to start the Jewish people as His chosen people. Now God has sent Jesus Christ into this cursed world to offer salvation only to those humans who believe Jesus is their Savior!
Salvation is now offered to all mankind, but it is a personal commitment that must be made by every individual whose immortal soul will then ultimately end up in heaven. If you have committed your soul to follow Jesus Christ in this cursed world, then you can pray to God and He will listen and, in some form, grant your request. However, you must genuinely believe God/Jesus exists before He will hear your plea or praise. The writer of Hebrews wrote about this need for faith. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6).
Who is this Jesus, many people will wonder, but they are too busy living the fun life this world offers to spend any time reading a Bible to find out who He is! Paul wrote for us when he came to believe who Jesus is and what he does for His followers. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17). Jesus is not just a historical figure recorded as a human being who lived in this world for thirty-three years. Jesus created this world, “For by him all things were created: and in him all things hold together.”
Jesus came into this cursed world to show us how we should act if we truly want to become one of His followers. Following are some clues about how we should act and react to others in this lifetime. He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8). Paul wrote, Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (Ephesians 5:1-2). Since God/Jesus first loved us, we should try to see other people as Jesus saw them, and He ate with them and enjoyed their relationship with Him!
Since we have inherited a sinful nature from the first or original sin, we need to recognize the fact that we will have sinful thoughts, and thus, we are better prepared to avoid giving in to sinful thoughts and actions. John wrote about how we need to be aware of such sinful opportunities. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 8-9). We may avoid sinful actions or reactions, but even if we do not, we can confess our sin to Jesus and believe we are forgiven. This will help our mental attitude towards ourselves!
Paul wrote about his personal conflicts and how he had battled against his desires to sin and he had avoided most of them and knew he would be forgiven for those he may have given into and confessed to committing! I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
What a great promise for us to believe that when we leave this mortal life and we have tried to become more Christ-like helping us to avoid sinning, and more importantly to be forgiven for the sins we committed as we have confessed them to God, then a “crown of righteousness” will be awarded to all who longed for His appearing. If you do long for His appearing, then a “crown of righteousness” will be awarded to you! God/Jesus will forgive your sins and forget them, and then treat your immortal soul like royalty in heaven!
Salvation is now offered to all mankind, but it is a personal commitment that must be made by every individual whose immortal soul will then ultimately end up in heaven. Paul wrote about this new covenant when he was blinded by a bright light, and Jesus instilled into Paul’s immortal soul the knowledge of Who He is, which caused Paul to convert from Judaism to become a follower of Jesus Christ. Then we know that Paul became the evangelist to the Gentiles. Paul wrote about the inclusion of the Gentiles to be now consider as God’s chosen people too. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27).
Back to this crown of glory, James wrote about this crown to be awarded too. God may test your belief and allow you to be tempted by Satan in this cursed world, but this testing will result in a good outcome, when you overcome such worldly tests as Jesus did when He walked this earth as the Son of man. As James wrote, Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12). Are you ready for your crown? Remember, to work on becoming more Christ-like today and every day! Studying your Bible will help you know how Jesus acted when He walked this earth as the Son of man, and your brother! Jesus was tempted too!
