Without Love It Is Impossible To Have Happiness In This Cursed World!
John 13:34-35 (NIV)
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Every day we listen to the news we hear reports of some one shooting and killing another person or injuring or killing multiple people. I like to think that in the USA today there are more loving people than there are those filled with hate and harboring murderous thoughts. God has great plans for all people as He has given us an easy Way to escape the worldly problems and to lead a happy loving life, if we just believe in the one plan God supplied for the salvation of all mankind. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16). Jesus created this world as a heavenly place for mankind to live forever. However, Adam and Eve disobeyed the command God gave them and sin and death entered this world and brought in a curse resulting in a death penalty!
Thus, your life in this mortal world is not the loving place God planned, but it does give each person an opportunity to become a believer and thus become an avid follower of Jesus Christ, and to become born again, and then being guided on a path that will lead us to heaven when we die. When you are on this path it will become obvious to people who are in contact with you as they may notice you are different than those who are not saved as “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
In the rest of this commentary let us dwell not on hate but on earthly love, which is the only true love as it comes through Jesus Christ! Your hope needs to be based on the knowledge of life not death as death is a temporary state for believers! But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. (1 Peter 3:15).
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? (Psalm 8:3-4). In the Creation accounts in our Bible remember that five of the six days are focused on creation of the earth, and the creatures that live on this earth. And before sin entered this world was created for mankind to live on it forever. Before sin the created earth was perfect, just like heaven is promised to be in the new earth.
This world is a temporary mortal place where our mortal being lives, and since it is temporary, we need to fucus our energy toward gaining knowledge of our heavenly home and how we can be happy here by knowing the best is yet to come. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. (John 12:25-26). We can follow Jesus all the Way to heaven and knowing that we can be happier in this lifetime.
If you have been blessed in this lifetime with more than you need, be willing to share it, by giving to those who may not have enough. Amassing possessions on this earth should not be your highest priority, as it could cause you to lose the grand prize, your salvation, and your place with Jesus in heaven. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Luke 12:33-34). If you spend too much time gaining earthly wealth, it could cause you to lose sight of the better prize reserved for you by Jesus. Is Jesus preparing a room for you in heaven?
A recap of the most important facts to remember! Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ is the Way! For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6). Jesus has paid the price for your salvation, all that is required of you is to claim it by believing He is who He says He is!
Now back to the love stories of showing your love of others because we are all made in the image and likeness of God. We are all born with an immortal soul, which Jesus desires to direct to heaven to a room He is preparing for you (us)! If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). Paul wrote about how everything we do in our life needs to be motivated by love, or the results will likely amount to nothing of a positive nature!
True love of our fellow man is a must to having happiness in our daily lives! Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (1 Corinthians 13:4-5). Without love it is impossible to have happiness in this cursed world! If you believe Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, then you can feel love toward all mankind, as Jesus died for all of us out of His love for all of us! Remember Jesus told us to “Love one another. As I have loved you!”
Today, be happy in Jesus!
