There Is A Type Of Independence That Inspires The Blessing Of God Toward Our Country!
Romans 12:3 (NIV)
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
In this cursed world we must strive to develop a feeling of belonging and we may succumb to following the wrong kind of people and be drawn to a lifestyle that will not lead us to true happiness. In the USA today there is much turmoil all around us and it becomes difficult to ascertain how this country will continue to thrive as a world power, when it seems we are turning away from the God of the Bible and toward the acceptance of evil as being good! We see our pride being shifted from striving to doing good deeds to applauding the lifestyles of sinners who seek their freedom to continue sinning and yet to be praised for defying Jesus’ commands. This type of independence does not inspire the blessing of God toward our country!
Our Bible tells us we are made in the image and likeness of God, and thus, human life is not limited to this life in this cursed world. It seems most people now believe that a human life is no more sacred than any animal’s life, as we now discard our sexual mistakes by aborting a forming human baby and claim this freedom us our right! This type of independence does not inspire the blessing of God toward our country!
Jeremiah wrote about how some of the prophets of his day were misguiding their nation away from God’s Word and plans and toward sinful ways instead. Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. (Jeremiah 14:14). In this country today we are seeing the departure from God’s plan as described in our Bible and toward acceptance of sinful lifestyles as being okay and thus should make us proud of their acceptance. This type of independence does not inspire the blessing of God toward our country!
Jesus Christ came into this world to offer salvation to everyone who seeks a way to improve their life in this cursed world and to give them a Way to transfer their immortal soul from this place of death to a place of eternal life, we call heaven. Remember this, Jesus created our world as a heavenly place, and Adam and Eve brought on a curse when they sinned by breaking God’s command. The writer of Hebrews wrote about Jesus and how we can develop a faith that He is our Savior. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. Hebrews 4:14.
This writer reminds us that Jesus lived in this cursed world just as we do. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. Hebrews 4:15. Jesus lived here yet we believe He did not fall to sinful temptations, as we may do! We are to use this as a pattern for us showing that we can choose to avoid sinful temptations too! While we may not be able to avoid all sinful temptations, we can expect to reduce our failures at avoiding sin.
Since we will reduce the penitent to sin because of our faith, we can be confident that our salvation has been purchased for us by the perfect sacrifice Jesus Christ made in our stead. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16. Think about it, Jesus died that you have eternal life, and you will depart this cursed world through your mortal death, and your immortal soul will immediately be transported to the room Jesus prepared for you in the Paradise of God! Now that is the Good News! This type of independence inspires the blessing of God toward our country!
Paul wrote about trying to do good deeds that may in some cases be taxing and make us feel tired, but we will be blessed by the Holy Spirit and our strength will be renewed so we can continue to do good! Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:9-10). Look for those opportunities to serve by helping someone who is in need, and your strength will be renewed. This type of independence inspires the blessing of God toward our country!
Where does our true strength come from? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no-one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31). Belief in Jesus Christ is an independent decision! Each believer stands alone in their faith, no one can believe for them. However, your belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior unites you into the Body of Christ immediately when you are born again. Your immortal soul is headed for the Paradise of God, it is just a matter of time, until God will call you to be home with Him! Are you ready to fly?
Hope your Independence Day was enjoyable!
