The Power To Be Happy In Jesus And To Trust And Obey, For There Is No Other Way!
1 John 4:9 (NIV)
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
This event was the most significant event to occur in all recorded history. It forever changed this cursed world and has caused human beings to either cling to the recorded accounts in God’s Word, AKA our Bible, or to develop other belief systems that claim to be a way to feel good about what happens when we die in this cursed world! The Bible has been studied to try and understand it more than any other book! Understanding it causes people to change to either hate each other, or to love each other. The Christian New Testament teaches us about God sending His Son into this world, and it is not studied by some people as they do not believe Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah.
The Bible is the only book we can read that was given to mankind through guidance and inspiration by The Holy Spirit of God! Peter wrote about this guidance for those who prophesied and recorded events in our Bible. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21). Jesus fulfilled many Old Testament prophecies to show evidence that He is the Messiah who was promised.
All other books you can read may be inspired by God, but these books are still written by a human being, and thus, they all may have errors when trying to teach what God has said, as none of us are capable of knowing everything. See what God said to Isaiah, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9). Theologians read what God has said and then they try to tell us what God meant!
Now back to this idea about the disruption that Jesus coming into this world caused. Jesus once said, “"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven. "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.” To read this in context see Matthew 10:28-39. (Matthew 10:32-34). Paraphrasing what else Jesus said, He said His coming brought disruptions in the family, as some would believe in Him and some would not. I think Jesus was using an earthly family as an example, but meaning more to exemplify the family of the Son of Man.
Jesus Christ is both the creator and sustainer of this earth (the universe) and because of the sinful nature of mankind God will not live permanently with us. However, Jesus Christ is still working with us to offer His continued support of mankind on this cursed world. Jesus wanted to tell us about this support while He still walked this earth. Jesus once said, So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:31-34).
We must remember that we oversee this earth, and thus it is not fair for us the blame God when distribution of food is not managed in a way to ensure that every person is well feed. The fact is we “the people” are responsible for causing some to be ignored and malnourished in this world, even in the USA. God put mankind in charge of the earth Jesus had just created! So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." (Genesis 1:27-28).
People have created various worldly religions based on an inability to accept God’s Word as being the absolute truth and thus trying to obey and follow it! Jesus talked about this difficulty while He still walked this earth. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14). There is only ONE salvation plan, and it is the only Way that must be followed in order for any human being’s immortal soul to end up I heaven when they die on this earth.
This is even further complicated by Christians being separated by the “false god” we refer to as denominations. God’s chosen people the Hebrews suffered because they kept coming up with false gods they chose to follow, and God allowed them to be pulled out of the Promised Land and sent to other lands. God had positive plans for them if they obeyed and followed Him. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13).
When these people saw the error of their ways and prayed, then God brought them back. God made this promise while the Hebrews were still being held by captive by the people who God had allowed to conquer them! I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile." (Jeremiah 29:14).
This earth is a wonderful, temporary cursed place, where Jesus came to us as the Son of Man to become the perfect sacrifice to show mankind the Way to heaven, and the narrow path to join Him in a heavenly place to wait there until the new earth, AKA heaven, has been created by Jesus Christ. In the meantime, Jesus’ followers are blessed. Paul told Timothy and us, how this belief will offer us the power to be, “Happy in Jesus and to Trust and Obey, for there is no other Way! For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7). Do you feel the power to help you obey?
