The Holy Spirit Is In This World To Help You, Especially When You Are Telling Someone “That Jesus Is The Answer!”
Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV)
I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Based on my study of the Bible, and by believing that this book is a message from the one and only God from the very first verse through the last page, it seems most of the people in this cursed world today, will have their immortal soul cast into the fiery lake of burning sulfur when they die! In the book of Revelation, we find a summation that John recorded for us.
So, first here is the bad news about those people who did not accept the gift of salvation through grace by taking Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." (Revelation 21:8).
So, here is the good news about everyone who has been born again through their faith in Jesus Christ thus they will avoid the second death, and will end up in heaven, when it is ready for occupancy! John wrote this to assure us about our reward. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. (Revelation 21:4-7).
Now from the selected verses Paul has written about this belief we share about our resurrection from the dead and eventual entrance into heaven. When Jesus died for your sins and you became a follower of Jesus Christ, you worked on becoming more like Him! The most important part of this is changing your life’s perspective which will carry you until you leave this earth. So, we as followers are “becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.” There may also come a time in this life when you may also experience, “the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings.”
Paul shared with us his ability to suffer but still maintain a peaceful mood and by writing many inspiring letters while he was in prison. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7).
Paul wrote to the Ephesians reminding them, and us, how we are or may have been before coming to believe. As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. (Ephesians 2:1-2). Did worldly ways interfere with your ability to become a true believer? All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:3-5).
Then when you came to believe your salvation brought about a change I your interests and views on what you wanted to do in this world! For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no-one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10). The writer of Hebrews defined for you how faith works to allow you to improve your life. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1). In this cursed world we need to trust more in the belief system in places to believe in without seeing them now.
Jesus’ brother James wrote about our need to surround ourselves with fellow believers. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16). Paul wrote to the Colossians, and us, about our need to be ready to witness to unbelievers which could result in pointing them toward Jesus and their salvation. Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. (Colossians 4:5-6).
Please remember, when we tell someone how Jesus in your life has improved your outlook on life, the Holy Spirit will give you words to use that may not be coming just from you. Luke wrote about Jesus’ teaching about the end-times and how believers may be persecuted or harassed. Then Jesus told His disciples to not just rely on their knowledge to present the truth. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. (Luke 21:13-15). I believe this certainly applies when you are witnessing to someone in our world today! Study your Bible to know answers to questions you may be asked, but do not avoid witnessing because of fear of not knowing what to say. The Holy Spirit is in this world to help you, especially when you are telling someone that Jesus is the Answer!
