Heaven Awaits All Believers As We Are Standing On The Promises Of God!
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Everyone reading this today was born into this world from a female human being! Okay, this is not a surprise to anyone reading this, but it is a good reminder that we just celebrated Mother’s Day, and maybe it could be a good reminder of how we all got here in this world. Human females were created as a special event when Jesus created this universe. Adam was created from the dust of the earth, but Eve was created from a rib taken from Adam. Eve was the mother of all mankind! Eve is the mother of all of us, thus there is only one race of people, we are all related.
Every human being is a one of a kind being, because we are all given life by God the giver of all human life. A writer of a Psalm sums it up nicely. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:13-14). In our world today many people do not understand this or believe it, so they take credit for the life in their womb as being something they created with the help of a man, and thus they are willing to abort this gift from God, because they just do not want it, because it is inconvenient, and they only had sex just for their pleasure! I just received a membership card from Planned Parenthood and besides asking them to remove me from their mailing list I wanted something that says how I feel about abortion!
Now let us talk about being born again! If you have taken Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior, then you have been born again! First, here is the selected verse for today’s VOW, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! Do you feel new every morning because when you wake up you know the Holy Spirit is available to help you know what to say, and helps us try to love people, even the ones we do not like!
Then Paul wrote how we should feel freed from this world, pulling us toward seeing sinful acts as being something we want to do! Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1-2). James warns us about being tempted by what seems like friendship with worldly people and ads with which we are bombarded. You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred towards God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. (James 4:4). Our sinful nature still tries to pull us toward becoming a worldly person.
John wrote about becoming worldly too. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. (1 John 2:16). Are you trying to become more Christ-like and thus seeing the world through thoughts inspired by Jesus, or is your sinful nature getting the upper hand in your everyday life? If you can think of your worldly wealth as being a gift from God, instead of what you labored for and gained on your own, then there will be less reason for us to be “boasting of what” we have done!
We all come into this world as immortal beings, which is we all have an immortal soul, which is the essence of life created in all human beings when we are born into this world. Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." (Genesis 1:26). There is likely disagreement as to exactly when this life force is implanted in a human being, but I like to think it happens at conception! When the two cells, one from the woman, and the sperm cell from the man unite to fertilize the egg forming the zygote, a microscopic human being to start developing.
Paul wrote about how obvious it should be to everyone living on this planet that there is a Creator who created and maintains this earth, and the universe. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:20). People who believe in evolution give credit to mother nature for everything we see! Theistic evolutionists allow God to take credit for using evolution to create and maintain this world and universe. They are willing to trust god enough to use evolution, BUT they do not trust god enough to believe his word, when He tells us how He did it in our Bible, His True Word! They trust man’s word over the Word of God!
The writer of Hebrews describes true faith. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1). We can be “sure of what we hope for!” We can be “certain of what we do not see.” In this life believers can be sure of our salvation, because Jesus told us we can trust in Him! Trust In Jesus! This world is a temporary place, but Jesus told us there is a permanent place not of this world, and we can be “certain of what we do not see.” Heaven awaits all believers as we are Standing on the promises of God!
Jesus told us, His followers, that He laid down His life for us! You can say that Jesus died for me because He is my friend! Jesus once said, Greater love has no-one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. This is my command: Love each other. (John 15:13-14, 17). You are a friend of Jesus Christ you are even more than that you are a member of His family! Now that is the Good News! Amen!
