Biblical Truths That Many People Have Come To NOT Believe Or At Least They May Doubt!
Part 2 of 2
1 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV)
The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
Last week we went on a short vacation, so VOW was not written!
In the VOW of 10/05/24, I ended it with this comment:
Next week the commentary will pick up at this point and report other Old Testament facts that Jesus believed that many Christian churches now have replaced with evolutionary “just so” stories.
Many churches have applied the evolutionary theory to their Bible accounts, which then cannot allow for some recorded Biblical accounts of creation events. This belief system must disregard many events recorded in our Bible, as they do not fit in the evolutionary believer’s guesses! Since evolutionary theory is estimated without any previous written accounts, it is purely conjecture unlike the creation account as these are based on written accounts recorded in our Bible.
A great fish swallows Jonah:
Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm. At this the men greatly feared the LORD, and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows to him. But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights. (Jonah 1:15-17).
Here Jesus affirms this account comparing the timeframe to His time dead and laying in a tomb!
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here. (Matthew 12:40-41).
God has told Noah to build an Ark to save his family, and the land animals from the coming worldwide Flood. So, then God is waiting until the Ark is ready before He starts the worldwide Flood.
God waits for Noah to build the Ark:
So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. Noah did everything just as God commanded him. Then God waited until Noah was able to finish building the Ark!
The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. (Genesis 6:13-14 and 6:22-7:1)
Jesus likens His departure as the Son of Man from this earth, and then alludes to His return, and then He compares this waiting time interval to the surprise of His return to the terrifying arrival of the worldwide Flood.
Then he said to his disciples, "The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. Men will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. "Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:22-27).
Peter also believed the Flood accounts in our Bible were accurate historical events, as Peter wrote the following account of the coming of the Flood!
For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience towards God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. (1 Peter 3:18-22).
I believe there was a worldwide Flood as our Bible tells us, and that the result of this Flood the geologic column was formed about Four Thousand Five Hundred years ago. This means the evolutionary theory could NOT have happened, as this destroys the supposed evidence for evolution to have the Five Hundred Million years for biological evolution to occur on this earth! Remember, the so-called missing links from a worm becoming a man in these millions of years are STILL MISSING! Also, of note is that the creatures in this list of missing evidence still exist on this earth in a normal reproduceable state, we still have worms and members of mankind, it no evolutionary change is referred to as stasis by the evolutionary believers.
Also, of important note these animals and mankind can only mate with and reproduce with like kind, just like our Bible has always told us. And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. (Genesis 1:24). No animal can reproduce another kind of animal or give birth to a human being! Observational science divulges this, and it is a fact!
Are we now in the last days? First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. Be careful what theology you choose to believe, man’s or God’s! Also, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2). Not the end, but the beginning, believe it, Jesus created and sustains everything!
