Remember, The God In Heaven Became Our Father, When We Were Born Again!
1 John 3:1 (NIV)
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Do you feel like a child of God? Salvation is a personal accomplishment as each new saint becomes one by accepting the perfect sacrifice made by Jesus Christ in your behalf! Immediately, the Holy Spirit is guiding your immortal soul, with the destination charted toward heaven. Do you believe your immortal soul will end up in heaven? All God’s children will end up in heaven eventually, and when you die in this cursed world, your soul will be guided to the room prepared for you by Jesus Christ. Now this is truly Good News!
Now for the not so good news! In this world many, maybe most, people do not believe that Jesus Christ is the only Way available for their soul to end up in heaven. Many people do not even believe there is such a place as heaven. Biblically speaking the alternative to being a child of God is having their immortal soul ending up in hell when they die. People who do not choose to become followers of Jesus Christ will not think highly of those who have become children of God, because as John wrote, “The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” Believe it followers of Jesus Christ are born again as children of God, and completing the life cycle in this cursed world we will be blessed by God!
We must remember that this cursed world is a temporary place where all people live out their mortal lifetime. However, it bears repeating that all people also have an immortal soul, and we all have the opportunity to determine where our immortal soul ends up. John wrote about this mystery of the hope that the children of God have. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. (1 John 3:2-3). With this great hope there is a price we need to consider in this life, that so called price is to keep trying to become more Christ-like every day in this cursed world.
It is becoming more difficult for me to write a positive report about living in this world, as it seems to be deteriorating on an accelerated rate! It seems this world is spiraling down as there is less and less respect for human life, which leads mankind to hate mankind, instead of loving each other as Jesus taught. Many of the worldly religions seem to teach that if anyone will not convert to their belief system, then it is okay with their god or gods to kill such people. John wrote for us the followers of Jesus about God the Father and that He is love. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (1 John 4:16).
Today we see the evidence of how the worldly religions and some groups are proud of who they are or what they believe! Paul wrote about the proper motives for living in this world, which requires that we must humble ourselves before the awesome God. Paul teaches us to “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” (Philippians 2:3-4). Any group that professes pride of themselves above all others cannot “in humility value others above yourselves.” Any group or religion that professes that their lifestyle and/or belief system must be accepted even if such beliefs are forbidden in God’s Word, they have raised their worldly beliefs above what God has revealed as sin in His Word.
Jesus left this world and commissioned His followers to spread the Word proclaiming who He is to the entire world. Matthew wrote about Jesus descending from earth back to heaven and the instructions He left for His followers. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:16-20).
As can be seen the church that Jesus Christ came to this earth to form has not done a very complete job of telling this true story to everyone who may then have come to believe it. It seems Satan has done a more complete job of spreading his lies, and more people have come to be directed by him, so their immortal souls will end up in hell when they die in this cursed mortal temporary world! Is there someone you know and/or love that you can tell them how having Jesus Christ in your life has made you happy in Jesus?
If you are brave enough to tell someone about Jesus and they come to believe, then they too will immediately become a child of God. Even small numbers of children of God can pray to God and have their prayers answered. Jesus once said, "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:19-20). If just two children of God agree and ask God to intervein somehow on this cursed world, “it will be done for you by my Father in heaven.” Remember, the God in heaven became Our Father, when we were born again!
When Jesus walked this earth as the Son of Man, He was able to perform many miracles and He healed many people, and even raised some from the dead! One such miracle was recorded by Mark for us. A storm came up and the disciples in the boat feared for their life, so they woke up Jesus. He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!" (Mark 4:39-41). Jesus’ disciples were amazed the He could control the weather conditions of this earth.
We have not had the opportunity to witness a miracle performed by Jesus as these disciples did, but it is very important that we also need to be in awe of who Jesus is and ask, "Who is this?” Do you just know about Jesus, or do you know Jesus! A tune comes to mind! “To Know, Know, Him is to Love, Love Him, and I do!” Amen!
