Jesus Christ Wants To Be In A Personal Relationship With You!
Galatians 2:21 (NIV)
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
Did Christ need to die for you? If you are a good person, and thus, do not sin, then Christ did not need to die for you. Do good people who die go to heaven? Once when someone called Jesus “good teacher” Jesus replied, "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No-one is good—except God alone. (Mark 10:18) Jesus, who did not have a sinful nature as we do, did not consider Himself to be good. Then how does any normal human being ever consider themselves to be good and sinless? The law cannot save you, as it does not allow grace and it cannot change you into a perfect sinless being! Only by claiming the perfect sacrifice made by Jesus allows grace to abound. If you are seeking justice from God, because of your good life, then get ready to go to hell when you die.
Jesus died for all of mankind, but His salvation is limited to only those people who accept His sacrifice, as their means to salvation. Please believe this is the only way any member of mankind can be saved. Once you accept this offer of grace, then you immediately start living the good life. Paul wrote about this good news life. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28, NLT) Does this then indicate you will have a peaceful and abundant life immediately when you accept Jesus offer of salvation? No, it really only means you will know that your immortal soul is now guaranteed to go to be with Jesus when you die to this life!
We will have the love of God immediately, and thus He will be with us all of the time, but our life may not be pleasant and peaceful. This is mostly because of the people who have not accepted salvation, and because of the evil spirits that still roam the earth. However, as Paul assures us we will be accompanied through all of the worldly woes by the Holy Spirit, Jesus left behind for us. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:5) Note what Paul teaches here, that “God has poured out his love into our hearts.” If God loves you who can be against us? So put your hope in Jesus!
The wisdom and understanding we possess will carry us through this life, if we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our lives. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. (James 3:13) James wrote here about having the “good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” Are you in training for leading this good life? Paul wrote to Timothy about this spiritual not physical training. Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:8, NLT) Are you working out for the afterlife yet? This life will transition from living your physical life to an immediate transfer to be with Jesus for eternity.
Some wonder what will happen when we die, as the Apostle Thomas asked Jesus, how we will know the way to find Jesus when we die, to which Jesus answered as follows. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (John 14:1-3) Did you get that; Jesus will come back and guide you to where He is. As Jesus said, “I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” What a wonderful promise Jesus made to all His followers. Just wait for Jesus to come back and get you, when the time is right!
Paul wrote about this mystery of having Christ within you in the form of the Holy Spirit, which Jesus also promised before He went back to be with our Father in heaven. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. (Colossians 1:27-28) Yes, we all have this wonderful hope of attaining glory from our acceptance of Christ’s perfect sacrifice for me (us)! Jesus died for your sins so that you now live through Him in righteousness, now that is a stretch of dependence upon the promises of God!
Paul wrote to the church at Philippi of this possibility of even you becoming righteous through this wonderful relationship with Jesus Christ. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11) As followers of Jesus we may be “filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.” Jesus Christ wants to be in a personal relationship with you! This is the Good News for today!
