Is Your Bible Your GPS To Your Eternal Destination? Part 1 Of 2!
Mark 10:6 (NIV)
Jesus said, "But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female”.
Some Christians have been convinced that atheists and naturalists are correct and that the earth is billions of years old. At the same time there are Christians who believe and teach that the earth is only about six thousand years old. Recorded history only covers a period of about six thousand years, which obviously coincides with the Young Earth Creationists timeline. Therefore, the old earthers refer to this additional time of billions of years as the prehistoric timeframe. This allows them to estimate times for their purposes to make it appear they know when prehistoric events occurred. Since some Christians have adopted the old earth ideas, it makes me wonder what Jesus Christ believed when He walked this earth as a member of mankind! Do you believe Jesus was a theistic evolutionist? Just for clarification, theistic evolutionist believe that Jesus used evolution for His method of creation. What did Jesus believe, and what did He base His beliefs on when He was a member of mankind? What do you believe?
Some Christians have doubts about the Biblical story of Jonah, as they have trouble believing Jonah was swallowed by a huge fish. However, Jesus believed this Biblical account to be a true story. Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you." He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here. (Matthew 12:38-41). Of course, Jesus is quoting this story from the Bible account given in the Old Testament. So, now do you believe this story to be true. Maybe Jesus was wrong of misunderstood this text, or maybe Jesus was lying to cover this story? What do you think?
Some Christians no longer believe in the worldwide Flood as is recorded in the Bible. You cannot believe in a worldwide flood, if you believe in evolution, as such a catastrophe event would destroy the evolutionary belief that the geologic column was laid down over millions of years. So, did Jesus believe there was once a worldwide Flood? Jesus tied the Flood event with His second coming. "No-one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. (Matthew 24:36-39). In this conversation Jesus said, “For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.” Is it possible Jesus was in error or was He just mistaken in this account He gave, or maybe Jesus was lying. If Jesus believed there was a worldwide flood, because it is recorded in His Word, how can you not believe it too?
Did Jesus believe in evolution? If evolution is true that mankind came about over millions of years of evolution, then mankind would not have been created through evolution as male and female this would not have come about for millions of years, not from the beginning. However, Jesus believed that mankind was Created from the “beginning” as male and female. Jesus was once asked if divorcing your wife as okay with God! Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?" "Haven’t you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’, and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." "Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?" Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. (Matthew 19:3-8). When tested, Jesus answered, “"Haven’t you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’” If mankind was Created in the beginning as male and female, then there was no evolution of mankind, which is what the Bible plainly teaches. Obviously, Jesus believed this was true! Was Jesus wrong or was Jesus just covering up for the Biblical error, or was Jesus lying? What do you believe?
During the Old Testament times God spoke to His people through prophets, but now He is speaking through His Son, and The Holy Spirit. The writer of Hebrews wrote about this for us. In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. He (God) also says, "In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. (Hebrews 1:1-2, 10). I believe Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life! What do you believe?
Paul wrote for the church in Rome, and for us about the faithfulness of God, and the nature of man which allows us to be liars. What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: "So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge." (Romans 3:3-4). Let’s face it evolution and creation cannot both be true, which results in one of these stories to not be true. It is important here to differentiate between telling what you believe to be true and telling something you know is not true but telling it a being true. When you believe something to be the truth, but it is not true, you are not lying! You are merely teaching something you believe to be true, BUT it is not true. You are not lying you are just passing along invalid information. That is what I believe people who believe evolution are doing. There is no evidence for evolution, the missing links are still missing!
If you choose to believe in evolution as how Jesus Created everything, then please stay tuned, as next week I plan to write part 2 of 2 on this topic of Theistic Evolution! Next week’s writing will try to cover how believing in evolution causes the need for a Savior to not really exist! Do not forget, as it is true, every member of mankind is a liar! Lies are really never white or little! We all stagger on that narrow path!
