I (Jesus) Will Come Back And Take You To Be With Me That You Also May Be Where I Am.
Galatians 2:20 (NIV)
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
When you obtained the spirit of Jesus Christ, you died! Well, you died to the worldly desires that would attract you to sinful desires. Of course, you still have that mortal piece of you called the sinful nature. Your (our) sinful nature will still cause you (us) to be attracted to want to react to sinning and the desire to partake of the attractions offered in your mortal world. God knew this, that is why Jesus left the Holy Spirit behind in this mortal world to assist the followers of Jesus Christ to avoid those worldly attractions. As the key verse teaches, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
We are still living in this physical world, and we will still be attracted to the wonderful lifestyle it offers, but if we allow it the Holy Spirit is always just a prayer away. Remember, we carry the Holy Spirit within us, if we are truly followers of Jesus Christ! Now that is a great thought to carry with you all the time. Paul again reminds us about the changes that being born again causes. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17). It makes it possible to see this cursed world in a different light, as Jesus working in you supplies the light to cover the darkness offered by Satan in this world in which Satan tries to tell you there is no hope.
Many of our younger people today are not receiving this wonderful story, because they do not believe that God gave us a Book to guide our lives. Thus, they do not know the Good News that there is a better Way of living in this world and being happy, because we have the hope of salvation guaranteed by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Do you know someone who does not know there is Good News to Share. Are you sharing it everywhere you go? You likely have heard a saying that you may be the only image of Jesus Christ that some person may see.
We were all created with that immortal piece of us that is god-like, but we can never become like God. That special piece of us must be recognized or else we may believe as the world teaches that we are just another animal. Some people believe this false teaching, and thus, they do not have a belief that they (we) are a special creation by God. Each of us, before we are born into this mortal world are created by God as an immortal being. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24). We can transition from being controlled by our mortal sinful nature to instead rely on our immortal sinless nature, ONLY if we take on Jesus Christ as our Savior.
Your (our) immortal soul can only control our mortal lifetime, if we take on the resurrection capability given through acceptance of our salvation by being attached to Jesus Christ and directed by the Holy Spirit! If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. (Romans 6:5-7). As these verses teach, “If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.” When you accept the salvation offer from Jesus Christ, you obtain the realization of also taking on the resurrection from the dead, which includes the Way to heaven.
Let us wrap up this commentary with the Words of salvation directly from Jesus Christ.!
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (John 14:1-7).
Here Jesus sums it up for His followers. First, He is the only Way for mankind to go to heaven when we die in this mortal world. When He said, “No-one comes to the Father except through me.” Therefore, Jesus Christ is the only salvation plan offered by God, who resides in heaven! Second, here Jesus teaches that He is also God! When Jesus says, ” From now on, you do know him and have seen him." Jesus is telling us, His followers, that when you see Him you are also seeing the Father God! Third, Jesus is telling His followers that when we die in this mortal world, He will come and take us to be where He is! I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Now that is the Good News! Can you tell someone this wonderful story of God’s salvation plan?
