If You Believe Jesus Died To Forgive Your Sins, Then You Have Been Born Again, Believe It, And Profess It!
Matthew 6:24 (NIV)
No-one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
Notice the translators of the NIV capitalized the word Money, as they are trying to emphasize that money can become a god to members on mankind, and thus become an idol to be held in awe instead of reserving they awe for Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Jesus’ brother James wrote about this misplaced love or holding in awe some earthly thing or possessions, as being worthy of their adoration instead of loving and adoring God! You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred towards God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. (James 4:4).
Jesus warned His followers to be aware of this problem of working in this life to obtain possessions without first allowing time to work on amassing blessing from God in preparation of their immortal soul ending up in heaven. Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:19-21). In this country we are usually trained to work on amassing possessions as the first order of business, and we judge success in this life by how much stuff we have amassed.
Many people consider themselves to be failures if they have not become rich based on the number of possessions they have in comparison to their friends and neighbors. There are a lot of buildings where a person can rent space to store the stuff, they do not have room for in their house and barn, and maybe other storage places. Remember, when you die and leave this life, you cannot take any of these precious possessions with you. Only your immortal soul will remain, and where it goes is determined by your belief system. If you have accepted your salvation through Jesus Christ and thus, been born again, your soul will be escorted to heaven by Jesus! If you have not been born again, then your immortal soul goes to hell, and is likely escorted there by Satan or one of his demons.
Paul wrote letters to Timothy to help him understand the truths given to us in God’s Word. Here is one of those instructions from Paul. I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Paul further described the truths that can set you free to live in hope! For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6).
With these truths in mind Paul also wrote to the church in Rome this assurance. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:28-31).
Jesus tried to explain that His followers must be born again to Nicodemus. Part of what Jesus said is as follows. I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No-one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:11-17).
When you become born again in this lifetime, your immortal soul will end up in heaven immediately after you take your last breath in this cursed world! The life force will leave your body, and thus, it will be dead and will be left behind on this earth. Salvation is a personal commitment that everyone MUST make by taking on the salvation offered only through belief in Jesus Christ to be the Savior of this world! It seems good to once again mention that you cannot take anything from this cursed world with you to heaven. Everything stays here to be destroyed when the new earth, AKA Heaven is created to replace it!
It is important that you believe this, so you end up in heaven. It is also required for believers to tell other people in this world this story, so they may end up in heaven too. Some people say things like, what can just one person do to help others in this complicated world?
Let’s end this commentary with a brief story about Abraham to indicate what just one person believing God can accomplish in this world. Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be." Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. (Romans 4:18-21).
Do you believe Jesus has the power to give you the strength required to tell someone how having Jesus in your life, has improved it? This change is a gift for you obtained through the belief that your immortal soul is now destined for heaven, because you believe Jesus Christ died for the forgiveness of your sins!
If you believe Jesus died to forgive your sins, then you have been born again, believe it, and profess it!
