An Attitude That God Emphasizes Is Humility And Mankind Has Difficulty Trying To Remain Humble When We Gain Power.
Matthew 1:23 (NIV)
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"— which means, "God with us."
Jesus Christ came into this world, which He created, to offer salvation of their immortal soul to everyone who believes He came into this world for that purpose! Paul believed this and wrote, “That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9). So, this is the whole story wrapped up in two verses of Scripture! Jesus was born into this world through a woman, just like you were, and He came here for the purpose of offering salvation of the immortal soul, the part of us that is made in the image and likeness of God, if you believe and accept the salvation offered.
Now for the hardest part of this plan for many people to accept is that this is the only plan of salvation God the Father offers! Once you accept this offer of salvation, you are changed, and the change is immediate. You will now recognize sinful acts and try to avoid sinning! Jesus once explained why this change occurs. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:9-11).
Paul wrote about this change that occurs within us when we believe Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17). Thus, the change in our view of our life in this world is immediate and starts us on that narrow path that leads to heaven. Also remember when Jesus left this earth to go back to heaven, He left the Holy Spirit behind to assist all believers to identify evil and then try to avoid it. This Holy Spirit also helps us to pray to our Father in heaven.
Paul wrote more about Jesus Christ as the creator of everything and he also alludes to the fact Jesus holds it all together. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17).
The writer of Hebrews teaches us about how Jesus’ time on this earth as a man allowed Him to understand the difficulties, we all will encounter in this cursed world. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16). Jesus knows about the temptations in this world that could pull you away from working on becoming more Christ-like. How are you doing on this mission?
Paul again emphasizes how Jesus Christ fulfilled the requirement of being the Savior by offering Himself as the required perfect sacrifice needed to cover over all the sins of mankind on this earth. For God was pleased to have all his fulness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. (Colossians 1:19-20). The blood offered through Jesus’ perfect sacrifice made the continuing practice of animal sacrifices to be no longer required for the forgiveness of sins!
The writer of Acts wrote for us about the fact that Jesus Christ offers the ONLY means for the salvation offer by God for mankind. Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12). There are no choices for mankind to make that will allow their immortal soul to end up in heaven. Jesus is the reason for the season and offers the only Way for you to go to heaven!
John wrote for us understand the main purpose for Jesus coming to this cursed world, to allow us to be free from Satan’s temptations. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. (1 John 3:8-9). Jesus offers His followers protection from the worldly temptations offered by Satan.
When you become a believer and thus a follower of Jesus Christ, it is because you believe what Jesus did in this cursed world. And as Jesus did when He still walked this earth as a man, He chose the apostles, and He chose you too, when He arose and ascended into heaven. Jesus said, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” (John 15:16). It is true you are one of the chosen people of God, and it happened when you came to believe Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.
This may be the scariest verse in the Bible, as it has always made me wonder what power a believer may be able to tap into! If we ask for something good to happen in this cursed world, in the Name of Jesus, will it happen? If God wills it, “Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” When Jesus healed people in this world, He usually said something like, ”Your faith has healed you, go in peace!” When Jesus healed a sinner, He would add something like , “and sin no more!”
An attitude that God emphasizes is humility, and mankind has difficulty trying to remain humble when we gain power. The more powerful a person becomes the least humble we become! He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8). We can only walk with God, if we remain humble acknowledging that God controls all healing power.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we must always rely on any power we may have as coming to us through our calling into service by God. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:30-31). In this lifetime we will only possess any true power as a means of taking knowledge of Jesus with us when we leave this earthly mortal lifetime.

Happy New Year!
