If You Know Jesus, You Know The Way To Heaven!
Luke 6:27-28 (NIV)
But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who ill-treat you.
Is it humanly possible to “Love your enemies?” The answer to this question is No! If the person is motivated by their sinful nature! In fact, no one is capable of true forgiveness, if they are depending on their human nature to empower them in this world. Every member of mankind is born into this world with the stain of their sinful nature, which is inherited from Adam through the Fall of Man. No member of mankind is destined to go to heaven, when they die in their one lifetime. There is nothing you can do about this situation, as you are unacceptable to God in this sinful state. Because of the Fall of Mankind, you will go to hell when you die!
Without a Savior, you are destined to go to hell when you die. Jesus made this perfectly clear when He walked this earth as the man/God. Just like the Apostle Thomas, we do not know where heaven is, so how can we find it? Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:5-6). Could it be any clearer, no one can find the way to heaven without having Jesus to guide you there! As Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.” If you want to go to heaven, then you must have Jesus as your guide!
It seems that our world is becoming more and more violent, as fewer and fewer people “actually believe” that they need a Savior, or some, even that there is a place called heaven. What do you believe? Wait, dwell on this question, it is the most important question you can ever be asked! The answer has eternal ramifications! Your life on this earth is of course important, because you or your immortal soul, was created by God, in His image and likeness! God desires that your immortal soul comes to live with Him, when your mortal body dies. You are condemned and heading for hell, but Paul wrote about how accepting salvation through Jesus will change your eternal destination. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1-2). Accepting the perfect sacrifice Jesus made for you corrects this narrow path of destruction that your sinful nature put you on.
You can believe you have been, “set me free from the law of sin and death.” Therefore, with Jesus in your life it allows you to get on that narrow path through what Jesus called the “the narrow gate.” This gate is of course Jesus! "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matthew 7:13-14). As Jesus indicates here there are only a few, a small number of people, who find faith to believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven. Have you found the faith to believe that Jesus died for your sins, and all you MUST do is accept this wonderful gift of grace!
There are many worldly religions that have formed in this world by following some member of mankind, who is not Jesus Christ. Of course, such religions cannot lead you to heaven when you die, as only Jesus is the Way. Only Jesus can lead you to heaven when you die to this worldly life. You must have faith that will lead you to Jesus Christ.
The writer of Hebrews wrote about the amazing things having faith can bring about. Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. By faith Abraham, even though he was past age—and Sarah herself was barren—was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.
People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. (Hebrews 11:6-14). The country that all of mankind is seeking is heaven, but many of them do not know the way, because they follow the wrong earthly leader!
Only Christianity guarantees that when you die, you will go to heaven, as it does NOT depend on you doing the right things in this lifetime. You will go to heaven, because you know the Way there. Jesus will come and guide you to it when you die to this mortal life. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." (John 14:1-4)
If you know Jesus, you know the way to heaven, but do not worry about it, because Jesus is coming to get you and lead the way for you!
