Always Work For Jesus And You Will Never Dislike Your Life!
Colossians 3:15 (NIV)
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
As followers of Jesus Christ, you (we) should expect to believe the same truths “since as members of one body!” Therefore, separate denominations should not be required! Separate denominations only exist, because mankind is not capable of absolute agreement on anything, especially belief in a god, or gods, or even believing in the God of the Bible. Bible believers attest to believing in and following only Jesus Christ, who is one of the three persons in the one God! Therefore, all churches and groups of churches AKA denominations, are worldly organizations and thus cannot offer anyone salvation.
We have been given one Bible from the one God, but of course that same God separated us by changing the one language we had after the Flood, because we were not doing what God had instructed us to do. In this cursed world God allows Satan to influence mankind to create many religions that are based on ideas believed by sinful mankind, which causes us to disagree on who or what god may be. Some people still believe in multiple gods, and some people believe there is no god. Followers of Jesus Christ believe that salvation is only found by those who choose to believe in Him, and try to adapt their lives, so they become more like Him. What do you really believe?
The writer of Hebrews wrote about belief or faith and how true faith can only be possible if you believe that the God of the Bible exists. By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:5-6). In this life we, the followers of Jesus Christ, must have a faith that causes us to believe in the three persons in the one God! Plus, we must believe that Jesus Christ supplies the only Way for any member of mankind to go to heaven when they die.
All followers of Jesus Christ have been commissioned by Him to go into the world and tell unbelievers that having Jesus in you, has improved your life. Matthew recorded for us the message Jesus gave His followers shortly before He left this earth and went back to be with Our Father in heaven. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28: 16-20).
Matthew gave us a clue about the separation mankind will always experience in this cursed world, when he wrote “Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted.” The eleven mentioned here are the people who had been worshipping Jesus and following Him around now for about three years. These are the Apostles the most intimate followers Jesus had on this earth. Yet, it says “some doubted.” A very positive situation comes to mind here, as we know all eleven of these individuals are in heaven, even though, they experienced some doubt.
In Revelation we can read the description of The New Jerusalem on the new earth, and it has the names of the Twelve Apostles etched on the foundations of the walls. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (Revelation 21:12-14).
Remember, that Jesus experienced disbelief even from His closest fellowship people yet He was on a mission to eventually die, so our doubts and sins can be overlooked when we leave this mortal world. The writer of Hebrews wrote about how Jesus experienced the same temptation in this cursed as we do, and thus He knew how we may feel. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. (Hebrews 4:14-16).
In this lifetime followers of Jesus are expected to try and work on becoming more Christ-like every day. This attempted transformation is a lifetime process, and it will never be completed in this mortal cursed world. Paul wrote about a way for us to try our best at working at this lifetime task. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free. (Ephesians 6:7-8). So even the normal or mundane tasks we perform in this mortal lifetime can better help us gain Christ-like characteristics if we work for God while performing tasks requested by mankind.
Get a job you like, and you will never work a day in your life. There is a saying something like this, but a better one might be. Always work for Jesus and you will never dislike your life!
