Jesus Is Coming Back To This Earth, “However, When The Son Of Man Comes, Will He Find Faith On The Earth?"
Mark 6:3-6a (NIV)
Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?" And they took offence at him. Jesus said to them, "Only in his home town, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith.
In the selected verses Jesus has returned to His hometown, and the people who saw Him grow up and had come to know Him were surprised to hear of His accomplishments and they were suspicious of who He had become. Many people today reading about Jesus are suspicious of who Jesus really was when He walked this earth as a man. Most people on this earth today do not believe Jesus is who He says He is! What about you? Who do you believe Jesus is? I write, who He is, because I believe Jesus is still alive, and He resides in heaven today! What do you believe? This is the most important question you will ever answer in this lifetime! For your answer determines where your immortal soul will spend eternity!
When Jesus still walked this earth as a man/God, He healed many people, and He often said something like, “your faith has healed you,” when he healed them. In one such incident Jesus healed a woman who suffered from bleeding and had for a long time. She came up behind Him in a crowd of Jesus’ followers, and just touched the hem of His robe, believing if she did, she would be healed. In one account of this story, Jesus said He felt power go out of Him when she managed to touch His robe. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering." (Mark 5:34). In the selected verses we see how lack of faith in Jesus’ ability to heal them, caused Jesus’ power to be limited and ineffective! Is our belief or lack thereof, limiting Jesus’ healing powers for those we love who need prayers and healing?
Paul wrote about his take on who Jesus was as a member of mankind living on this earth. Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed— not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. (Philippians 2:6-13).
John wrote about what he come to believe about Jesus Christ, and who He was as a member of mankind who lived on this earth, as we do today. John is giving his belief which was developed by living with Jesus in a day-to-day companionship for three years. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete. This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:1-7).
Are you trying to walk with Him in the light in this dark and ominous world? As Paul has put it, will you “continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” Paul continued his thought and wrote about adopting a good attitude about living your life showing gratitude to Jesus for His offer of salvation through Grace. Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. (Philippians 2:14-16). Paul wrote about his personal battle to come to follow the truth that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
Paul then wrote about how coming to know Jesus, and to claim the salvation He offers, will change your life forever. Once saved you cannot continue to live as you did before dying to this life, and now living with Jesus indwelling your heart. I (you) have been crucified with Christ and I (you) no longer live, but Christ lives in me (you). The life I (you) live in the body, I (you) live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I (you) do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! (Galatians 2:20-21). Notice that I have inserted (you) in each statement Paul wrote, and my prayer is that this is true in my and your life, today!
Have you put Jesus in the driver’s seat of your life? The Holy Spirit was left behind on this earth to assist and guide us as soon as we take on Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior! If we have Jesus, we have life and have it more abundantly. Jesus ended a parable with the following comments. And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:6-8).
Are you holding back Jesus’ desire and ability to heal this earth, because you have not expended enough time to get to know Him? No, just knowing about Him is not enough, you must know Him as your personal Savior! Jesus is coming back to this earth, “However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" Do you believe He is who He says He is?
