Please Pray For Our Country And The World, As We Struggle With What The Absolute Truth May Be!
Galatians 5:13 (NIV)
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
Jesus taught us about being humble in this cursed world, and He told us to become the servant to others, and to help them resolve the problems of this world. Before Jesus came into this world mankind did not believe in treating others with respect and many people were considered as property to be owed and treated however the owner deemed appropriate. Jesus first introduced us to the idea of love your neighbor as yourself! In our country today we see a turning back to the barbaric treatment of other people, as though they are just another animal. We see a lack of respect for the unborn members of mankind, as we routinely abort unwanted babies, as we would abort any other animal we do not want or need.
If you do not believe human beings are a special creation, and the reason this universe was created by Jesus, as our Scriptures plainly teach, then no one is incensed when someone chooses to murder a human baby, which God has allowed to be created. In this cursed world there become questions about when it may be appropriate to allow an abortion to be done. These are difficult situations, such as rape, or incest, or for sure when it seems the mother’s life is truly threatened if the birth is allowed. However, such incidents are rather rare, and should NOT become the barometer for deciding to allow abortion on demand for anyone who wants one!
In this country today there are more and more people who do not have a love for others, and many have no compulsion about killing someone. There have been recorded over 5,000 people who have been killed in this country by gunfire, to date. Recently, a man was shot and killed in Japan, and the killer used a homemade weapon, as it is difficult to buy guns in Japan. This was the first man shot and killed in Japan in 2022. There is something terribly wrong in this country that has such a resounding difference in the number of deaths by gunfire.
There is apparently a lack of love and respect in our country for others! If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. (1 John 4:20-21). Most murders do not apparently love the person they are killing. More and more people in this country are becoming atheists and thus they do not believe in God or a god or gods. Some of these people do still try to live by a “good person” persona, but they do not have a standard to go by, they make up their code of life. Without a higher stand to keep their sinful nature under control, they may decide it is okay to kill other people.
Before having faith in Jesus “good people” used the law or some man created laws to give them guidance for their lifestyle. Paul wrote about the law that God gave His people before Jesus came as our example. Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. (Galatians 3:21-23).
When Jesus appeared to the disciples after His resurrection some of them did not believe Jesus came back from the grave. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:25-29). No one reading this has yet to see Jesus to verify He has the nail marks and a gash in His side, so we too may have some doubt.
John wrote more about Jesus to help all of us who did not get to verify His resurrection, so we can still believe that He truly rose from the dead, as He had prophesied! John hopes to give us more assurance about the part of the triune God that Jesus the Son fulfilled. Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:30-31).
Peter who spent about three years living with and serving others around Jesus wrote about the free gift of salvation through the grace Jesus offers His followers. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9). It is only through this grace offered through Jesus suffering that we can be saved from this world of sin. We all have inherited a sinful nature from that first or original sin that our first parents Adam and Eve committed. Only by believing Jesus is who He says He is can we gain a place in heaven when we die!
This VOW has some controversial parts, I hope/pray you will forgive my possible misunderstandings and help me by sending me some response to parts where you may have superior knowledge! Please pray for our country and the world, as we struggle with what the absolute truth may be! Only God knows all the answers!
Your brother in life through Adam, your brother in eternity through Jesus,
