We May Receive Mercy And Find Grace To Help Us In Our Time Of Need!
Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
2020 will certainly be remembered for many years as currently there are 12 western states ablaze with forest fires burning millions of acres of forest and destroying many homes and businesses and killing numerous people. These fires are being stoked by extreme high temperatures and little to no rainfall in these states. The rest of the country, and the rest of our world, is experiencing many deaths from the COVID-19 virus. Currently the worldwide number of deaths stands at 946 thousand, from an internet inquiry. And this country and the rest of the world is having mobs form and loot and riot in disgust with racial tensions! There are more tropical storms forming than usual, and some of these storms have destroyed and ravished several costal properties destroying a lot of properties and killing many people. Dare anyone ask what else could go wrong in our world yet in 2020? After all we still have more than a quarter of this year remaining. Adding more to our problems, if this is not enough, we have our governing body and the health control officials disagreeing on what is the best way(s) to survive during this pandemic!
Our college students for the most part are ignoring the social distancing and mask wearing suggestions giving by our health control experts, and thus the pandemic is spreading to rates causing many colleges and universities to have to send the students back home, which will likely spread the COVID-19 virus to their own families, and likely cause the death or at least serious illness within their own families, and in their homeland areas. These are or should be the most intelligent people in this country. Eventually, they will become the leaders of this once great country!
Okay, now that I have your attention, what can be written that could make this commentary informative and spiritually uplifting? The selected verse tells us that in this cursed world as followers of Jesus Christ, the God inspired writer of the book of Hebrews says, “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Do you need mercy and grace to help you during this time of need? Now for some Good News, God is still in control of our world! Of course, you may ask then why does God allow all this trouble? Please remember that God put mankind to be the caretaker of this world and the caretaker too of all the other lifeforms God created to live on our earth! God may not only be standing back, so to speak, allowing us to do our job, but He may be allowing Satan to inflict turmoil in this cursed world. These troubled times may even be brought on by God as punishment for this worlds violence and disregard for His laws, such as the murder of millions of unborn babies, which He allowed to be produced by reproduction He created to fill this world.
Now for more about this Good News. Jesus Christ came to our world to be the perfect sacrifice, so that God would overlook our sins, and allow us to have a Way to go to heaven when we die in this cursed world. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24). This Jesus came into this cursed world to heal our sin wounded soul, as it says, “by his wounds you have been healed.” Not only did Jesus die for your sins, so that even though you are a sinner you can still go to heaven. Jesus also is going to be our interface with God the Father when we go to heaven. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time. (1 Timothy 2:5-6). See what is stated in this verse, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” Remember, Jesus will come to meet you and show you the Way to heaven when you die, if you have Him as your Savior.
When you accept salvation from what Jesus did for you on that cross, you became a child of God.
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1, NIV). When Jesus rose from the dead He gave us all a sign that salvation through Him assures us of the knowledge that we too will be raised from the grave, and then enter into the realm of the living for eternity, as we have become the “children of God.” This plan of salvation is offered to mankind because God loves us though we are sinners. As this verse says, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” And that is what we are!
Please remember that salvation is a new beginning, and we are born again immediately when we confess our sinfulness because of the sinful nature we inherited from the sin of Adam and Eve. All of us who have taken the step of taking Jesus to be our Lord and Savior do have the ability to avoid the lure of sin. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. (Romans 8:9-11). In these verses we get to see where life started. The evolutionists continue to seek for the knowledge of how life started, and they have no clue! Here we can read the answer to that question where it says, “he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit.”
In this cursed world we are all given the opportunity to find the place for our immortal soul, which Jesus/God creates for each member of mankind before the act of reproduction starts the mortal life of the fetus! So, you see immortality comes first from God, and this is the lifeform of mankind. Animals created by Jesus have a mortal being and life, but they do not have an immortal soul, which accounts for the ability of mankind to think deep thoughts and to be creative! Animals are given instinctive abilities to survive and thrive and adapt in the world Jesus created for them to live in. Remember, Jesus is going to create a new world, one without sin, and all those who have taken Jesus to be their Lord and Savior will live there with God/Jesus forever.
Remember, suffering in this cursed world is a temporary lifetime, the best is yet to come, but ONLY for those who claim salvation through Jesus Christ. When Thomas asked how we can know the Way to where Jesus will be when we die. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (John 14:6-7).
