Jesus Christ Died That You May Live With Him Forever In Heaven!
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Do you feel like you were a special creation of God? Your destiny is not limited to this world. In fact, your destiny is not limited to living in this cursed world. A part of you was created with immortality and thus is god-like. Do you feel god-like? Jesus asked Martha who was Lazarus’ sister if she believed in her immortality. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26). What about you Jesus is also asking you (us) this the most important question in your (our) lifetime! Do you believe that “whoever lives and believes in (Jesus) will never die. Do you believe this?"
We do, of course, have a mortal body designed by God to live on this world, which Jesus created for us to live. This additional part of us came about because of the Fall of Man. This mortal part of us must die and remain on this earth. Paul wrote about this in the letter to the church in Corinth. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:22). This making alive is commonly referred to as the state of being Born Again! This change causes us to listen more to our immortal soul than to be distracted by our sinful nature inherited from Adam.
Paul wrote a letter to the church in Ephesus that describes God’s love for us, and He offers to forgive our sinfulness, because of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4-7).
Many people have difficulty believing how much God loved those He created and established on this earth. Because God’s great love for us He devised a plan to make salvation possible, even though He knew we are not truly deserving of heaven. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no-one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9). Your immortal soul is esteemed by God to be worth saving and eventually it will be living with God in heaven, if you have faith enough to believe this Good News account recorded in His Word for us. Have you studied the Bible to uncover this wonderful story of salvation?
This is today’s selected verse for this commentary. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10). Jesus/God had a plan from the beginning of time, that is our idea of time, to create this universe, and He started the creation with the creation of the earth, which was like heaven will be, when He creates the new world, which is prophesied in the book of Revelation. When it is created those who have accepted their salvation through Jesus Christ will live there, and like Adam and Eve before sin, we will only know the Good News!
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-13). God is like our best friend on this earth. God know everything about us, but He still loves us!
You (We) are not good enough to be awarded heaven! To go to heaven on our own merit is not possible. Jesus knew this and left the Holy Spirit behind to help us survive, and love our neighbors, as ourselves. But anyone who does not believe Jesus Christ is who He says He is, will have their immortal soul cast into hell when they die. Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Galatians 1:3-5 (AV).
Jesus Christ died that you may live with Him forever in heaven! Now that is the Good News!
