Do You Know The Real Author Of The Bible?
1 John 4:9-10 (NIV)
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Do you believe that God loves you? Many people living on this earth today do not care if God loves them. Most of the people living on this earth today do not know anything about the God of the Bible. What do you know about the God of the Bible? If you profess to be a Christian, then it is your responsibility to get to know the God of the Bible. The reason this commentary is using the term, “The God of the Bible” is that if you are not reading this book God gave us, then there is very little chance you will ever get to know the real author of the Bible!
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. Adam ate the fruit that was forbidden, and sin and death was brought into the then perfect world, and immediately God set into action a plan, the only plan that could work to allow mankind to rebound from this sin that Adam and Eve committed. Most of us reading this do not really understand the reasoning behind this plan, but we profess to believe it! Every baby born into this world has within them an immortal soul, and they also have within them a cursed nature that is the remnant of the Fall of Man. The only cure for this fallen nature is a perfect sacrifice, which was made for you by Jesus death on that cross!
Paul wrote some very encouraging words, as directed by God, to assure us of this promise from the God of the Bible. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.(Romans 8:1-2) We (you) has been set free from this stain of death passed on to you by the first sin committed in a then perfect world. Do you feel the freedom, well you should! If your impulse was to think no, when you read this comment, you should pray about it! This freedom is not limited to only Paul, as he wrote this; it is available to you too!
We like Adam and Eve have an opportunity to live a sinless life, but unlike them, we have been cursed with a sinful nature. Paul wrote for us about his struggle with not being able to stay on that sinless narrow path, as he sometimes fell into temptation from worldly attractions. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. (Romans 7:22-23) Do you too have a problem with feeling like “a prisoner of the law of sin”that causes you to stray from “God’s law?”
Because of our sinful nature we often stray from the narrow path of holiness to be attracted by sinful activities that may seem pretty harmless, but then such activities tend to expose us to more serious pursuits of earthly pleasures, and the next thing we notice we are getting fat! Okay, it seemed good here to lighten up a bit, so as not to lose you from wanting to continue to read this. Some blessed people reading this do not have a weight problem, but we all have a sinful nature problem that may lead us into sinful pursuits. Although we may be working on becoming more Christ-like, we still feel the pull of Satan working through our sinful nature.
All Christians struggle with being tempted by Satan to do things we believe to be wrong, but that seem very appealing to us. You may feel this way too, and wonder if you really are saved, that is to say, have you (I) really accepted the salvation offered by Jesus? Paul wrote something else to help us with such feelings. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. (Romans 7:24-25) Paul tells us we are all slaves to something, and during this lifetime we will have a struggle with being prone to sin!
Peter wrote about how mankind will live and act when they are without the joy of salvation, and we can see such people in our world today. We hear about them in the news every day! This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish. (2 Peter2:10-12) Like brute beasts they will not live with God forever, as when they die to this life, they will not inherit their place in heaven.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you will know that the end of this lifetime is not the end, but in fact it is the great beginning of your new life in Christ. If you feel that then it frees you up to be able to love your neighbor as yourself! This is only possible because God loved you first and sent His Son to die for you. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1 John 4:11)
You can have a great day, because now you know, God loves you! Believe it and be free!
