His Story Is The Most Important History To Use As The Guide For The Rest Of Your Life!
Luke 2:6-7 (NIV)
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
When Jesus came into this world to be born as the Son of Man there was no fanfare and in essence almost no one knew that the world was changed forever! If you do not know Jesus Christ today, then your world has not been improved by the fact that a Savior was sent into this world, now over two thousand years ago. As is written when your Savior came into this world, ”there was no room for them in the inn.“ Today most of the eight billion people in this world still do not believe that this baby was, and is, the only Savior given by God to this cursed world.
His birth announcement was given only to some nomadic shepherds who were camping in the area. And there were shepherds living out in the fields near by, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." (Luke 2:8-12).
The greatest day in the history of this world was announced by angels, but only a few shepherds heard this wonderful message. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
So, these shepherds were curious enough to go check out what the angels had told them!
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
These shepherds believed this message about The Savior of the world being born into this world on this day! These were the first people to hear about Jesus and believe the truth about Jesus!
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. (Luke 2:13-20).
The birth of a Savior was foretold in the Scriptures, so the people of that time did know a Savior was planned by God for our cursed world. Here is one such account recorded for us by Isaiah. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and for ever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. (Isaiah 9:6-7).
John who walked this earth with Jesus as a friend and teacher wrote his belief about who Jesus was. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14). John knew Jesus as a human being, but he also recognized the fact that Jesus was also the Son of God, which of course, made Him be one person of the triune God. John knew that Jesus was God living as the Son of Man on this earth.
Mankind searches for some substitute for Jesus Christ that is not so imposing, and thus can be taken or left behind as our heart desires. At every annual season when we should be looking forward to the reality of Jesus/God for our salvation, we instead come up with substitutions, such as Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, or some human being we can honor instead of acknowledging Jesus Christ to be the only Lord and Savior of this world.
The Jews clung to the Law and thus failed to see Jesus Christ as their Savior. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17). So, they choose to continue to hold Moses as their Savior, as they observed by trying to follow the law God had given to Moses. They had no room in their hearts for Jesus Christ, as apparently, He did offer freedom on this earth for the Jews.
Jesus MUST be the reason for this season, as there is no other Savior offered for mankind by God the Father. Only if you follow Jesus Christ and believe He is who He says He is, can your immortal soul be saved and end up in heaven with Jesus Christ, when you leave this lifetime. There is only one Savior of this world, and it is Jesus Christ. Believe it and your immortal soul will end up in heaven with Jesus Christ!
Tis the season to believe in the birth of Jesus because this event started the greatest opportunity offered by God to all of mankind. That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9). Let all believers honor this virgin birth, because we believe the rest of His story! His story is the most important history to use as the guide for the rest of your life. This is the greatest story ever told, and it is all true.
Wishing you and those you love,
Merry CHRISTmas!
