Is God Loving And Personal, Or A Distant Indifferent Being?
Romans 5:7-8 (NIV)
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
You get what you expect! It is sometimes referred to as hype, when something is presented as a superior product in an effort to sell it, or to sell more of it, and when people are convinced it is true they give it laud and undo praise. If you think negative thoughts, then it becomes more difficult to feel or see positive results! It seems more people are having negative thoughts about whom or what is god! Is god viewed by you as He or It? In this example “He” is meant to refer to mankind’s view of the one true God, where “It” is meant to refer to a god. If you can believe the selected verses are true, then you can except that God is a very personal being who is interested in what happens to you.
We are living in a cursed world where evil reins as Satan is referred to by Jesus as the prince of the world. For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God. (Titus 2:11-12, NLT) In this country it seems we are becoming more lawless, or have lost our respect for those in law enforcement and governmental positions. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law. (Romans 5:12) Death resulted from Adam’s sin. If you believe in evolution, then this cannot be true. As death and suffering went on for millions of years before Adam sinned and brought in the curse of death into this world.
If you believe God used evolution to create mankind, then you are saying that this God used millions of years of death and suffering to produce mankind from beasts before Adam then sinned. If this is true then what did the sin of Adam cause? It certainly was NOT death and suffering! Therefore, the blood shed by Jesus could not save us from our sins. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:6-7) God required sacrifices of perfect animals to cover sins. These sacrifices were just examples of how Jesus’ shed blood was the perfect sacrifice required to cover and forgive the sins of mankind. If we walk in His light and accept His sacrifice to cover our sins, then we are forgiven, “and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin".
If you believe that God created everything from nothing then the shedding of blood makes sense for the forgiveness of your sins. This is what God the LORD says—he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: "I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles. (Isaiah 42:5-6) Did you wake up this morning breathing? If you did, then you need to thank God, because it is God, “who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it.” If you are breathing and walking on the earth, it is because God is sustaining it, and you! If you believe this, then God is certainly very near and personal to you!
Believing that God created everything and He created mankind as very special beings then you can easily imagine that such a God would really be able to love us, as we are. If you love someone then you desire to help them become better people. This is very important for parents to consider in raising their children, and why discipline is important to help your children form good habits, and to respect other people as brothers and sisters through Christ. Of course, God wants you to turn out good too, so He has established discipline for us too, as we are His children.
God accepts us as we are, but since He loves us He has given us guidelines known usually as commands to help round us into God fearing (holding God in awe) citizens of the world He created and maintains for us. Of course, God has assigned us responsibility to help Him with this earthly maintenance too. Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:26-27) No evolution evident here, as mankind was created as male and female from the beginning!
Are we to forgive other members of mankind, when they cause us pain or maybe steal stuff from us? We should always try to forgive other people as Jesus has forgiven us; after all He died for you while you were still a sinner. My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins. (James 5:19-20) Your forgiveness could “cover over a multitude of sins.” Peter also wrote about this covering over sins through forgiveness and correction. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (1Peter 4:8) Always remember, “Love covers over a multitude of sins.”
Our God is obviously loving and personally concerned with us (your) well being and happiness! You are breathing as proof! If you are still breathing then you should thank God! Knowing, when you stop breathing you will be with Him forever in paradise. Jesus already paid your transportation fee to enter paradise! In paradise there is no suffering or death only joy! Do you plan to help your friends and family get there too? Jesus would like your help on that too!
