You Can't Go Back And Change The Beginning, But You Can Start Now To Change The Ending.
Hebrews 9:27-28 (NIV)
Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Justice is needed in this cursed world to punish evil, and to protect the believers from the evil! If a person is not a follower of Jesus Christ, then they are not protected from evil. All believers are awaiting Jesus return so we can be reunited with Him, and accompany Him to the new earth, which is heaven. This is an interesting future event that all believers can look forward to but how does this affect today? Of course, it should cause us to be happy and feel free to pursue good works to help all people, especially those who are lost in this complicated world and thus they are headed to hell.
Believers must believe that the Holy Spirit has been left behind on this earth to assist all believers with their everyday life struggles. Jesus taught that He would be with us and help us in our everyday life struggles. Jesus tells us to rely on His help in all we do. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30). Jesus is willing and able to share our burdens in this world.
In the Old Testament God promised to bless the land of those people who would believe in Him, and therefore, do as He would command. It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end. So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul—then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil. (Deuteronomy 11:12-14). Today, we can feel even closer to God, as we have the Holy Spirit being willing and able to indwell our heart. Remember, no one is promised tomorrow on this cursed world, so we all only have today, or a today, to do what God/Jesus has commanded!
Before sin came into this world there was no death, and we cannot really comprehend this situation. However, remember this is what heaven will be like. When Eve was tempted by the serpent AKA Satan, she was not lied to by Satan! The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’" "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:2-5).
Think about it, at that time in the Garden of Eden there were only immortal beings conversing with each other. When Satan said, "You will not surely die." it was true, as Eve’s immortal soul did not ever die! And, at that time Eve only had an immortal being, she did not yet have a mortal piece! She would not get that until she ate the forbidden fruit! Satan knew a lot about God, but he did not likely know God’s total plan for mankind. Satan was just trying to get Eve to go against the command God had given her, as he continues to do to us yet today.
When sin entered the then perfect world it set in motion changes that continue, and will continue until God reinstates the perfect world, which God has told us will last forever. So, in this cursed world there was set in place the pattern of life. Where the spiritual/immortal comes first, then physical/mortal comes as an addition to the immortal being. When death comes the mortal body dies and deteriorates, but the immortal/spiritual body continues to live somewhere for ever! In this mortal life we decide where the remaining immortal life we be lived. If mankind had not sinned, there would be no mortal body or limited existence. Therefore, there would be no need for a Savior!
Please believe it Adam and Eve were the first human beings Jesus created to live in the perfect world He had created. When any human being comes to believe in Jesus Christ and takes Him on to rule their life in this cursed world, you (we) are set apart and marked for heaven when you (we) die. As soon as this occurs, we immediately become aliens in this cursed world, as we have been marked for living with Jesus for eternity in heaven.
Jesus taught this idea to His disciples when He still walked this earth as the Son of Man. Jesus told us, "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:11-12). Jesus also told us we could live here amongst sinners and still have peace. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." (John 16:33). Jesus overcame this world and allowed His followers to maintain a peaceful attitude about this world.
Justice says, if you do not work you do not eat! Mercy says, if you cannot work, I will help you get what you need! Justice says all humans are sinners and thus they should go to hell when they die. This cursed world is still a delightful place, and I hope to hang around for long time. God’s mercy says, if you believe Jesus Christ is God’s Son and try to emulate Him in this cursed world your immortal soul will live with Jesus forever in heaven. Now that seems like a good promise to end this commentary! Do not worry, be happy!
