Are You Ready To Fly With Jesus?
Genesis 1:27 (NIV)
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Our Bible tells us that mankind was created as a special creation after God/Jesus had already created everything mankind would need to live in this world. Adam and Eve were created as human beings capable of maintaining this earth and caring for the animals and even the plants which had already been created to supply all the needs of mankind. And at that time God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. (Genesis 1:31). The animals already created that day were not the ancestors of mankind, as they were created the same day.
When God created mankind, He made them in His image and made us capable to communicate with Him in an intelligent manner. Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. (Genesis 1:26-29).
So, at this time everything mankind needed was made available for our use and we were supposed to care for all that God had created for us. Today our children are being taught that they are not a special creation by God, but we are only the most evolved animal on this earth. Because of this idea young people do not believe they are special to God, and they believe they must make their own rules, as they do not feel they are loved and cared for by God! They feel no assurance that there is such a God who cares for them and has supplied for all their needs, and Jesus maintains the atmosphere to allow life to continue.
If mankind did not hoard these necessities for life, there is sufficient food on this earth that no human being should be starving to death. God created mankind with the plan to be able to reproduce after their kind and fill the earth, so we could control and maintain it. Unfortunately, mankind committed the first or original sin and thus God could no longer live with us, as God cannot live with sinful creatures.
However, God did not leave this divide to exist, and He caused mankind to form a mortal part that must remain on this cursed earth. Of course, the part of mankind that was formed in the image and likeness of God will have the opportunity to again live in God’s presence. Thus, God gave us His Son to become that perfect sacrifice necessary to allow mankind to save their immortal soul by claiming the grace generated by His Son’s death and resurrection from the dead. This is the only such offer made by God. God does not honor any other scheme proposed by mankind to allow your immortal soul to join God the Father in heaven when we die.
Jesus made this clear to all mankind when He still walked this earth as a member of mankind. Jesus told His disciples about the fact that He was going to ascend to heaven to go back to the Father. And He told us that all His followers would also make such a trip when they die. Jesus said, “You know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (John 14 4-7). Jesus here claims to be the Son part of the triune God, and that only by following Him can any member of mankind go to heaven when they die.
As the people living on this cursed world continue to become more sinful and violent, as we now see happening, eventually Jesus will come back to rapture His people from this earth. Paul wrote about this event. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4: 16-18). Do you feel encouraged at hearing this remarkable story?
So, as you can see Jesus has wonderful plans for all His followers. If we die before He comes back, we will rise and come with Him. If we are still alive, we will be taken up into the heavens to meet Him, and then we will travel with Him to heaven, and then be there with God forever.
