All Members Of Mankind Now Know Both “Good And Evil,” Thanks To Adam!
2 Peter 3:10-13 (NIV)
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
True believers will not be surprised when this cursed world is destroyed, as we can read our Bible, and know that certain prophesies will be fulfilled before this earth is destroyed. However, we must first read God’s Word, and then believe that it states where we stand regarding this destruction. Many people who profess to be Christians do not or have not ever read their Bible enough to know the signs of the coming end of this world. The biggest identification needed is for a believer to believe is that our Bible is God’s Word, and that it contains the truth of God’s plan. Theologians study the Bible and then many of them tell us not what God said, but instead their belief of what He meant.
Since God’s plan of salvation only includes Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior, then there should only be one earthly church, as we as professing Christians are all followers of Jesus Christ. Since there are literally hundreds of church groups on this earth, we know then that all these churches cannot be offering a true salvation plan, which was established by God. I believe that salvation is offered to each person as a choice you MUST make of following Jesus Christ and serving Him only to receive your personal salvation. Jesus even said He will prepare a place in the new earth, AKA heaven, for each of His followers.
Of course, there can be no perfect church in this cursed world as all the members are sinners! Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15). So, it is a fact the church of your choice cannot save you, of course your church should help you become a believer by helping you identify who Jesus is and thus come to know Him. To me attending a Bible believing church puts you in contact with other likeminded people thus you learn to love the members of your congregation.
The Bible has been guided by God through the Holy Spirit to supply the complete accounting for the creation of the current earth within the universe, and then it describes the destruction of the cursed universe, and the creation of the new replacement sinless new earth, AKA heaven. Most of the people in this cursed world do not believe this statement is true. See to it that no-one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8). Most people, yes ever professing Christians, have been confused by believing worldly views over the Biblical accounts of history!
Many people do not believe that there are evil spirits living on this earth that can and do affect human beings in negative ways. When Jesus walked this earth, He believed there were, and are, evil spirits dwelling here and causing illnesses. In the book of Acts, Peter talks about Jesus’ healing people. You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached—how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. (Acts 10:37-38). Peter said Jesus was, “healing all who were under the power of the devil.”
Today in this world there is little if any, suspicion that any illnesses are somehow caused by evil forces that live in this world. Demon possession is never considered as a possible cause of any sickness we may come down with. Yet when Jesus walked on this earth and went around healing believers of all kinds of afflictions, Jesus referred to diseases He was curing as needing, “healing (for) all who were under the power of the devil.” Of course, in the big picture Jesus could be referring to the need of ALL people for the salvation and final healing we all need. Yet, this statement is specifically dealing with the healing of earthly diseases!
All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:15-18). The real world for true believers is not this cursed world in which we currently exist. Therefore, unbelievers cling to this world/universe as the only reality that exists, and it is all a temporary place, which God/Jesus continues to allow to function, until the real eternal new earth will be created to replace it.
All of us human beings are endowed with an immortal soul that was fashioned by God to be in His image and likeness, and it will never die. We also have a sinful nature added when sin brought death into God perfect world. Thus, we need a Savior as our sinful nature cannot be overcome by our own volition as it has power over us in this cursed world. When we accept salvation through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then our immortal soul replaces our sinful nature as the most powerful entity in our existence. Thus, we call it being “born again” when the power shift occurs. Jesus Christ becomes our light to follow in this world. When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12).
God designed this mortal part of our total lifetime to be short, so we get to see Him sooner, at least I like to think of it that Way! Jesus’ half-brother, James wrote about the brevity of this life. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14). There have always been people who cannot accept God’s guidance during their lifetime, and such people try to interject their unbelief on anyone who professes to believe in the God of the Bible, as such people are being directed to do so by demons that have been cast down to this mortal earth where all evil exists!
Jude wrote about such people. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 1:4). Believers are surrounded by such people. Jesus strongly brought this to the attention of His ministry members. This is one of those times. But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. "Get behind me, Satan!" he said. "You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men." (Mark 8:33). Calling Peter Satan is an extreme attempt to shock Peter into realizing he was following Satan instead of Jesus, because Peter had been using his sinful nature to think like a lost member of mankind, instead of a saved believer! Which part of your being is usually directing how you know if what you are about to do is good or evil? All members of mankind now know both “good and evil,” thanks to Adam!
