When/If You Have Accepted Jesus Offer Of Grace, Then Immediately Your Name Was “Written In The Lamb’s Book Of Life.”
Philippians 3:20-21 (NIV)
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
True followers of Jesus are awaiting His return to this earth. However, most of the people living on this earth today do not believe that Jesus will return to this earth. Many people living on this earth today, do not even believe that Jesus ever lived on this earth in the past. Many believe that Jesus did live on this earth in the past, but they do not believe He was or is God’s Son! What do you really believe about Jesus? Is Jesus the Christ? Do you know about Jesus, or do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Most people on this earth today, know something about Jesus. Most professing Christians know little about Jesus, because they have not taken the time to study their Bible!
Jesus made it very plain that in regard to knowing Him there is no real middle-ground. Jesus once said, “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.” (Matthew 12:30). Are you working on gathering or a scattering? Christians are supposed to be working on becoming more Christ-like every day! Just a reminder for all of us who claim to be followers of Jesus! In the selected verses you may note it starts with the word “But.” Paul wrote in verses 18-19 about those people we will come into contact with who do not hold Jesus in high esteem. In fact, some people, “live as enemies of the cross of Christ.” For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. (Philippians 3:18-19)
In this election year we are being bombarded with statements from candidates demeaning each other to the point that when we vote it only leaves a choice between the lesser of two evils, as our choice. It should be taken as a reminder for us to not be joining in on this weakness of looking at everyone else as someone to serve us. For as followers of Jesus, we are supposed to be the servant of all others. My political knowledge is very limited; thanks be to God! We as Christians should always try to employ the Golden Rule in sizing up other members of mankind! So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12) Try to keep an open mind when you think about the candidates or in other words, WWJD!
An old adage states there are only two things for sure in this life, which are, you will pay taxes, and you will die! In this life we can only be sure of one guarantee! That guarantee is salvation through knowing Jesus Christ! There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12, NLT) Have you accepted your salvation yet? Are you absolutely sure that Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice for your sins? Start every day by praying for God to reveal to you exactly how to claim the grace offered by Jesus’ death in your place! Then regularly attend a church of your choice to help you affirm your salvation through contact with other people you can believed are saved!
Paul wrote about the coming Rapture, and it should be very encouraging to all of us who are Christians. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18) Are you prepared to fly on a moment’s notice, when “the Lord himself will come down from heaven,” to gather all of His followers? Then it says, “so we will be with the Lord for ever.” This promise should bring great joy to all Christians, and allow us “Therefore encourage each other with these words.
Let’s close this VOW with a look at the new earth or heaven to which we have to look forward. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. (Revelation 21:25-27)
When/if you have accepted Jesus offer of grace, then immediately your name was “written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
Your brother in life through Adam, your brother in eternity through Jesus,
