If You Come To Know Who Jesus Christ Is, You Will Be Recreated And Become A New Creation!
Romans 10:11-13 (NIV)
As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
In the broadest sense, there are only two belief systems: theism and naturalism. One believes in supernatural influence on the affairs of men and as the foundation of purpose and order, the other does not. The vast majority of the world is theistic (though not creationist) in its worldview. Only the “civilized world” is arrogant enough to consciously exclude the supernatural from its thinking. Salvation is available to everyone, but salvation comes only through belief in Jesus Christ. God only supplied one salvation plan and it is only available to those who choose Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does— comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives for ever. (1 John 2:15-17). John wrote, “Do not love the world or anything in the world.” So, what does he mean by the term “World”? Of course, we all live on the earth that Jesus created for us to live on. However, mankind created the world in which we live, and most of the members of mankind do not believe that Jesus Christ created this earth. This world reflects the beliefs resulting from mankind’s sinful nature, thus there is much evil involved in the creation of the world we live in.
It seems difficult to leave this commentary seem to be negative about this world, but the Bible indicates this is a cursed world we live in and thus mankind has a basic bent for doing evil things. Jesus did not seem to consider Himself as good when He still walked in this cursed world as a man. As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?" "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No-one is good— except God alone. (Mark 10:17-18). Jesus said it very distinctly, “"No-one is good— except God alone.”
Paul wrote some warnings for us on how we as followers of Jesus Christ should try to conduct ourselves in this cursed world. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:17-18, 21). Each person needs to count on the support of the Holy Spirit, which Jesus left behind in this world for those who choose to follow Him. If you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then the Holy Spirit is not available to help you guide your life in this world.
Paul again warns us to think differently than the world teaches us to react. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." (Romans 12:19-20). Paul knew how he thought before taking on Jesus Christ/the Holy Spirit as a guiding force in his life. Paul was trying to exterminate the Christians as defilers of God’s law as given to the Jews. When Paul became a follower of Jesus Christ he was greatly changed, and he came to know who Jesus is. If you come to know who Jesus Christ is, you will be recreated and become a new creation! Paul wrote about his personal experience of becoming a Christian. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17).
During this Advent season, please take the time to reignite the flame within you that has come to know who Jesus is. If you are having difficulty with this, please join the large group in this cursed world who struggle with living in this cursed world, guided by mankind, instead of being guided by the Holy Spirit. This is an everyday struggle as this world seems like the reality, but do not forget this world is just a temporary place Jesus created for us to live our mortal cursed life in. Remember, there is an eternal place being prepared for the followers of Jesus Christ. When we leave this world of man, Jesus Himself will come to take you to your permanent home with Him in heaven!
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, (GOD) he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.” (Acts 17:24-26)
Let us close this commentary with a prayer that, Jesus Prays for All Believers.
"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." (John 17:20-26).
Amen!
