As The Body Without The Spirit Is Dead, So Faith Without Deeds Is Dead.
James 2:26
1 Timothy 2:5-6 (NIV)
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.
On Good Friday believers celebrate the remembrance of Jesus Christ offering Himself for all members of mankind as the perfect sacrifice required by God to allow everyone who claims this sacrifice to go to heaven when they die in this cursed world. This is the only Way any human being can have their immortal soul saved an end up in heaven, as it is the only Way God has instituted! Today is the Good Friday for this year, so if you are a believer then you know when we remember that Jesus’ death on that cross over two thousand years ago, is evidence for us that salvation is assured.
As we remember Jesus’ death on that cross sets into motion the miraculous resurrection of His immortal soul as the evidence that we too who come to believe in Him will also have our immortal soul transported to the room Jesus Himself has prepared for you (us) in the Paradise of God, I like to call it! Since we know the rest of the story, we need to worship God/Jesus on this Good Friday, as we believe that Easter Sunday we will celebrate Jesus miraculous resurrection once again.
Jesus told His disciples about how He is preparing a room for them, in this heavenly holding place unlit the new earth, AKA heaven has been created. Jesus said to them, and to you, “In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am”. (John 14:2-3). Jesus is preparing a room for you where your immortal soul will go immediately when you die in this mortal world.
Jesus continued to assure His disciples that they will know how to find their room when they die. Jesus said, “You know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:4-6). So, remember what Jesus has told us His followers that He has prepared a room for you, and then He said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am!” Therefore, remember the promises Jesus has given to all those who choose to follow Him that He has prepared a place for you, and that He will come and take you to be where He is!
It makes me wonder why this Holy plan was devised by God for offering salvation to sinners. The answer is, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16). For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23). What do we as sinners need to do once we believe? If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).
So, because of God’s love for mankind, and Jesus’ perfect sacrifice in our stead, God is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. When we first believe we are born again and we are immediately changed, and we are told we need to work on becoming more Christ-like every day in this mortal lifetime. We become more like Jesus was when He walked this earth as the Son of Man.
Here are some verses that may help us to work on being more like Him now! I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:10). Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1John 3:2). In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. (1John 4:17).
You may be the closest resemblance to a Jesus that some non-believer may ever meet! Jesus earthly brother, James wrote about how our actions in this world should be positively affected by our faith. In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. (James 2:17-19, 26).
Wishing you and those you love a faithful Good Friday and a
Happy Easter!
