If You Can, “Believe In Your Heart That God Raised Him From The Dead, You Will Be Saved!
John 1:32-34 (NIV)
Then John gave this testimony: "I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."
Here we have an eyewitness account from John the Baptist who walked this earth with Jesus and served as the precursor to announce to the unbelieving world that this Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world! So, now do you believe? Have you told your children about this Savior of the world coming into it in a miraculous way? If per chance you do not have children, have you ever told anyone about this miraculous event we refer to as Christmas. Yes, I know it is Easter not Christmas, but without Christmas there could be no Easter.
Have you passed on the story of Santa Claus to your children or someone else, or are you now telling everyone about the Easter bunny? I’m wondering if these fictional stories told by professing Christians to their children and anyone else who is listening is causing those told that when they become an adult, they will know the story was fictional? Then what about the Christmas and Easter stories we also tell them, which are miraculous blessings from God, do they know that these stories are true? What do you think? Today, most of the people in the world do not believe these Christian accounts given to us by God through the Bible! We must believe these Biblical accounts by faith for us to obtain salvation of our immortal soul!
Here is a fictional story about how not wishing to abide by the commonsense rules can change the world for the worse! We were recently riding with someone, and we approached an intersection, and the light changed to red. The driver did not even slow down he just drove through the intersection, and we were all alarmed. We asked him, “did you see the red light?” and he responded, “yes, but my brothers and I go through red lights all the time.” Next, we came to another intersection, and the light changed to green, and he stopped the car. We immediately asked, “did you not see that the light was green?” He said “yes, I did see that!” Then we asked, “why did you stop?” and he replied, “one of my brothers may have been coming through this intersection!”
If you make your own rules, how can anyone else know how to respond, since they will not know how you are going to act or react? This is how our world in becoming as now many people are making up the rules, not based on a knowledge that is superior to ours. Many of the people in this world make up rules that are built upon some limited human ideas that cannot apply to all people. We have become so ignorant that we no longer know what sex we are. To farther complicate the acceptance of this as a viable concept, there are organizations being formed to support this kind of thinking. Such organizations promote these organizations and offer pride marches to display these ideas and to raise funds to support and promote such thinking.
We see worldly organizations that attempt to bring people together to support the ideas of the people leading the group in order to obtain buy in to the organizational plan. However, we see the churches that profess to train people to be believers and followers of Jesus Christ, which disagree sometimes even violently with the other churches who claim to be preaching the same message. Paul wrote about how he saw the plan for following Jesus Christ and developing new churches, which have chosen to be followers of Jesus Christ. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:5-6). While worldly groups form to profess unbiblical beliefs, they try to do so in unity. However, the churches purporting to follow Jesus Christ cannot even agree on the salvation plan.
Sorry, if you were expecting a joyful message today about this wonderful time of the year we call Easter, but it just did not pan out as I wrote it. This message is late today because of attendance at some inspiring worship services we attended this week at the church of our choice. We will be attending a worship service tomorrow on Easter Sunday! Are you going to be worshipping at the church of your choice on this Sabbath day? If not, why not? A church cannot save your immortal soul, BUT if Jesus already gave His salvation to you, WHY would you not want to join other believers to celebrate Easter Sunday.
This is the ultimate day of the church year because it proves Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and He rose from the dead to prove that resurrection is possible for ALL those who follow Him and believe. This salvation plan is ONLY available to those who choose to follow Jesus Christ. Jesus told us this when He walked this earth after He rose from the dead, just before He ascended into heaven! Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:16-20).
This is of course also a command Jesus gave to all those who would presume to become His followers that we all should spread the Word, God’s Word, about this wonderful completion of the salvation plan required by God the Father. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice required for forgiveness of the sins of all of mankind! All that is required is for each person to claim this plan of salvation. Let us keep it simple for now and believe that salvation is available only through faith that is the Son of God, and He offers salvation to all who can believe, he is who says He is. That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9).
If you can, “believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved!
Now that should allow for having a Happy Easter!
Wishing you and your loved ones,
Happy Easter!
