Jesus Chose To Die For Us (ME) While He Knew We Were Still Sinners! God’s Love Is A Personal Matter!
Psalm 33:8-9 (NIV)
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
There are only two kinds of people on this earth, those who have believed that Jesus is who He said He is, and those who cannot accept this as a possibility. Some of these people are drawn away from this truth by a worldly religion, and others who have chosen to ignore any and all references to a divine presence in this world. Many of these people are enemies of anyone who professes a belief in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Paul wrote about this situation to the early church, and to any who will choose to follow Jesus in this world. For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (Philippians 3:18-21)
Many people in this world today are being deceived by the claims of “science so called,” that everything we see around us came about on its own volition, they believe that evolution is the mechanism that either on its own created all things, or that a god used evolution as his mechanism of creation. In the selected verses we read about a need “Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.” What is the basis of this fear “For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.” I prefer using the word “awe” instead of “fear,” when we talk about having a reverence for the Lord. As fear indicates we need to be afraid of God, and that is not correct, as Jesus desires to call us friends, and treat us like friends, even though we are still sinners. In a sentence above the term “a god” was used, because the God of the Bible would not need or use evolution as His means of creation! That is what I believe! What do you believe?
When Jesus walked this earth, He was criticized by the religious leaders of that time for His association with known sinners. As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?" On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. (Matthew 9:9-12). Sinner’s needs are not healthy, we cannot gain heaven on our own merit. "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” But God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8). Jesus chose to die for us (ME) while He knew we were still sinners! God’s love is a personal matter!
A good friend recently died, and now if the Rapture occurs, he will return to the area of this earth, accompanying Jesus in the sky. If it happens while I’m still alive, I’ll fly up to meet Jesus and him. What is the basis of this belief about this coming event? We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever. Therefore encourage each other with these words. (1Thessalonians 4:14-18). Are you ready to fly? If you believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and you fear heights, just remember, do not look down. Keep your eyes on Jesus! That is a good idea even now before the rapture!
Paul wrote about the rapture, and how those still living who have been left behind, will be changed in an instant from our corrupted body, which is unacceptable in heaven, to an uncorrupted body, and it will occur in an instant, as Paul put it,” in the twinkling of an eye.” Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (1Corinthians 15:50-53, KJV). Jesus will call us to come up to Him, and instantly our body will be changed into an acceptable form for heaven.
Did you know that “trump” is mentioned in the Bible, well in the KJV it is? Of course, it is translated as “trumpet” in later versions of the Bible. I do not believe this is some revelation from God, but we can hope/pray that the rapture is very near! For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1Thessalonians 4:16-17, KJV). I’m looking forward to this uniting with Jesus in my new uncorrupted body! Are you?
However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. (1Peter 4:16). Tell someone about Jesus this week! Are you a Christian? Are you ready to fly?
