Your Life With God Through Jesus Christ Does Not End!
John 8:24 (NIV)
I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins."
Everyone is given life by Jesus Christ—we are made in the image and likeness of God at conception—yet very few are thankful toward God! At conception everything needed to form a human being is contained in the fertilized egg. In about 9 months a human being is delivered and starts to live a mortal life. However, there is also an immortal part to this fetus too, which will live forever. Do you believe this? If you do how could you believe it is okay to abort this miraculous process? Thanks to Joseph, Jesus fetus was not aborted, as Joseph believed Mary was pregnant with some other man’s baby. Today, Joseph may have been ready to ask Mary to get an abortion.
In the selected verse Jesus is telling His followers that He is the only Way for them (us) to be forgiven for their sins. In every human fetus there are two parts represented, one is moral and contains a sinful nature, which we inherit from the original sin committed by Adam. This fetus also contains an immortal part which will leave this earth when the human being containing it dies, and it will go either to heaven and be with Jesus Christ/God forever, or it will be separated from God forever and go to a pace we call hell. Do you believe all of this?
Many people do not believe there actually is a place the Bible calls hell, even some professing Christians do not want to admit that God will send any person to hell when they die. What did Jesus profess about hell when He was still walking this earth? Jesus once told the religious leaders of His day that they were in danger of going to hell. "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers! "You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell?” (Matthew 23:29-33). This is just one time that Jesus refers to the existence of a place He called hell.
Now that we may agree that there is a place we call hell, then we need next to believe that Jesus Christ did rise from the dead and that He then ascended into heaven, and is waiting for all members of mankind to come to believe that He is who He says He is, and thus they will join Him in heaven when they die to this mortal life. Paul has written about this belief he had that Jesus Christ did rise from the dead, thus showing that resurrection is possible for all those who believe. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:17-22).
God created hell as a place where the fallen angels would go when this earth is destroyed as they were cast down from heaven to earth, when Satan defied God’s commands and some other angels joined him. Then when Adam and Eve caused the fall of man, then members of mankind would also end up in hell, if they do not take the free salvation offered through believing Jesus is who He says He is. As there is only one true God, there is also only one salvation plan offered to all members of mankind. To be saved and end up I heaven we must become followers of Jesus Christ.
It is important for professing Christians to believe this, else there will not be a desire for us to tell other people about Jesus for them to have their immortal soul go to heaven when they die. Jesus gave us this command just before He ascended into heaven. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:16-20). So, we have been commanded to tell how Jesus in our life has improved it.
We received this command just before Jesus ascended from this earth into heaven, where he is waiting for His followers so He can escort us to Him when we die. Jesus told us about how He is preparing a place for us in heaven. Jesus once told us, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:1-6).
Here is that claim that Jesus made about Him being the only Way to heaven from this earth. “No-one comes to the Father except through me.” There is one God, there is one Savior named Jesus Christ, there is one heaven, and there is only one Way to end up there when you leave this mortal life! If you believe, then this is the Good News, and you should be thankful that you believe it! If you do believe, doesn’t it make you want to tell someone about your joyful feelings?
