You Are Now On The Narrow Path Because Of What Jesus Did For You! Now That Certainly Is Good News!
Ephesians 4:4-7 (NIV)
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called—one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
There is one body and one Spirit (Then there should be one denomination!) of the followers of Jesus Christ! Then why are there so many denominations of people who profess to be Christians? Mankind cannot agree to anything we see in this world, how then could we possibly believe in the heavenly prophesies we cannot see? Have you been called by the Lord to follow Him? Have you shared in the last supper meal at the church of your choice! Taking communion is considered as such an opportunity for you if you exercise your right to do it. As far as I know a time of communion is offered at all so-called Christian churches. As practicing Christians, we do not even agree on the salvation plan. We disagree on when and how we were baptized or even if we should be baptized at all. And some denominations believe we must be baptized by emersion before we can be saved!
Sorry to potentially be disruptive in this commentary, but it just appears to me that Satan is winning the spiritual battle in our worldly churches. Now even the Christian churches are becoming more worldly in our belief systems. You likely do not need more disruptive thought in 2020, as it certainly has a lot of evidence that mankind is very confused about what we should believe. We do not even agree on what has already happened, or as it is better known, history! Remember this, no church can save your immortal soul, only belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior can save your soul. We all need to depend more on studying our Bible for direction toward salvation through a better understanding of who Jesus is and what He teaches.
If your church offers an adult Bible study class, you should join it and attend the classes regularly! Attending worship services is absolutely required as it offers a time directed toward you being able to show your individual worship of God through Jesus. It is difficult to find time to concentrate your mental capabilities toward a true worshipful time on your own! There are too many distractions at our house or even being outside to truly have a time of complete surrender to a worshipful time with God. Jesus tells us about how receptive He is to meet with you to allow worship of Him with Him. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20). Are you ready to listen to Jesus as He says, “If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” Are you ready to eat with Jesus? Think about this the next time you partake of communion at the church of your choice. This is one of the great symbols that your church offers you. It is meant to be done as part of a community, but the inspiration is meant to be done as an individual.
To really understand this, you must first be born again. We can read about how a religious leader of Jesus time on this earth could not comprehend this reality. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. "You are Israel’s teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? (John 3:10-12). We must be born again before we can understand what God tells us through His Word. We must also believe that the Bible is not just another book written by mankind. It is the revealed, inspired, Word of God! Mankind wrote what God instructed them to write. The Bible is the only true Word of God. No other so-called holy book was revealed by God!
The Bible teaches us to love all other members of mankind. It also tells us to pay to support our governing entities and to give respect to all members of mankind. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow-man has fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:7-8). Are you desiring to be a law-abiding citizen of this world that God/Jesus created for us to inhabit? Jesus also told us we are to love all of mankind, even if they do not appear to love or respect us! If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matthew 5:46-48).
Earlier in this commentary I asked, “Are you ready to eat with Jesus?” This was about taking communion or sharing in the Last Supper with Jesus and the other saints. Now I ask, are you ready to become perfect? True perfection cannot come on this cursed earth, but when you were born again, you started to obtain perfection by become a brother or sister of Jesus. Yes, being born again makes you a member of the family of God! Now you can grow if faith, which gives you hope, even in this cursed world, because you are now proceeding in this world with a soul that is prepared for eternal life with Jesus Christ! You now know your soul will go to heaven when you die, because Jesus paid the cost of your entry into heaven when He rose from the dead, just as your immortal soul will. Go now and try to sin no more. You are now on the narrow path because of what Jesus did for you! You know you are saved, because you think differently than you did before you were born again! This is the Good News!
The writer of Hebrews teaches those saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ that Jesus is now our high priest who will guide us in our earthly life if we will allow him. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16). Jesus knows about the temptations in this cursed world, as He lived here and experienced such temptation, but He did not sin. This gives us hope that we can avoid the temptations of this world too. We will not be perfect, as He was, but we should experience some great experiences of being able to avoid most such temptations. Go in faith and sin no more, is a big order! Though we may not become sinless, we should expect to sin less! You are now on the narrow path because of what Jesus did for you! Now that certainly is Good News!
