Mother Did You Know The Child You Gave Birth To Will Live Forever?
Genesis 4:1 (NIV)
Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man."
When two members of the created kind called mankind have intercourse, which results in the female becoming pregnant, this union will produce an offspring that will live forever. This is not true of the mating of two animals, their offspring is always mortal, and thus when it dies that is the end of it. Animals cannot go to heaven, as they do not have an immortal soul as does the created kind called mankind. Sorry pet lovers, it seems that only mankind has been endowed with immortality. Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:26-27)
This immortality is tied to mankind, because “God created man in his own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” So Adam and Eve were made in the image and likeness of God. This immortal image is therefore passed down to all human beings from our ancestors, and will be as long as mankind exists. Every human being produced through this process instituted by God will produce immortal offspring.
Immediately when the female’s egg is fertilized this process is started, and the result will be a human being with an immortal soul. David wrote about this every day miracle in Psalm 139. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. (Psalm 139:13-16a)
Every fetus that is aborted ends this life before it is allowed to be completed, however, as David wrote this process was started even before the sexual act was performed. David wrote that God told him “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.” David believed God started this process before the actual act was performed, thus this fetus was known by God even before it took shape. Therefore, when an abortion is performed an immortal being is stopped from forming, as God had planned! The baby would have lived a lifetime on this earth, as God had deemed it should be done.
People have been influenced by a belief in evolution, even some who claim to be Christians. They believe that mankind is just an advanced form of animal, and therefore, they then doubt that we were created by Jesus as a special creation, and that He breathes into each new fetus the breathe of life. Paul wrote about this in his second letter to the Corinthians. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:4) “The god of this age” Paul writes about is a reference to Satan. It seems that even some, who profess to be believers, have also been influenced by Satan to believe man is only an advanced animal not the product of a special act of creation.
It seems to make sense that for a man or woman to be born again they must be born first with an immortal soul; else being born again really makes no logical sense. We read about Nicodemus being confused when Jesus told him he needed to be born again. "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!" (John 3:4) Being born again is only possible for a being that is immortal, as this process produces the reasoning behind being resurrected in the last days. A human must die first to this cursed lifetime, before they can be raised from the dead, as Jesus was!
God tells us in Genesis that all of mankind is considered by God to be different than any animal, as He warms us about shedding the blood of a man, as being offensive to God. Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man. (Genesis 9:6) Here God differentiates between man and animals, as God gives us the basis for capital punishment for shedding the blood of a man, yet God was asking for the shedding of the blood of animals, as the means for forgiveness of the sins committed by mankind.
God also calls for honor to be shown to our parents without any condition attached. By this I mean that we are to honor our parents, just because they are responsible for bringing into this world an immortal being! Because of this honor, God gave us the fifth commandment to honor our parents. Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. (Deuteronomy 5:16) So even if your parents are not, in your opinion, really someone who you can honor, based on their exemplary lifestyle, you are still commanded to show them honor!
It is wonderful to have parents we feel like showing honor and love, but if you are not so blessed, you MUST still show them honor. Notice this command offers a bonus for those who follow it, “so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” Some may think this consideration by God only applies to the Israelites, but let’s face it we all have some land, which God has created for us to live in!
There is another promise from God about the land we may own or at live in. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. (2 Chronicles 14-15) Notice this promise is directed to, “my people, who are called by my name.”
His people are all immortal; we just need to die in this lifetime. However, Jesus paid for your ticket to heaven, just believe it, and then, be prepared to go live with Him for the rest of your eternal life! This new life starts as soon as you believe, and are born again, don’t wait!
It’s a wonderful life!
