God Has A Plan For You That Started Before Your Birth!
This Verse of the Week is a repeat of one originally sent on Friday, June 8, 2012!
Romans 12:9-10 (NIV)
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
We live in a world that is becoming more and more violent. Those reading this may disagree with this assessment, but it seems very obvious this is truly happening. Just this week there was a news report about how cannibalism is on the increase, and I saw a graphic on the news about school shootings, and the comment was made, “there are so many occurring it is becoming difficult to keep track of the incidents.” Many of the new movies portray vampires and other undead creatures such as zombies, etc.” Our children are taught in school that we humans are just the most highly evolved animal, and that there is really no point to why we are here.
In the selected verses, Paul is writing about human beings who were created by God, as a special creation, not some evolved animal which came about through a random process, which had neither Divine direction nor any designed plan. Is it then any wonder that human life is considered to have such a low value? Many of the laws in the once great country protected the unborn animals, but allow the annihilation of the highest member of the food chain with protection from our government! Our tax dollars are used to support this process, so that Choice reigns over God’s laws about murder of any human being. Do you choose God or Choice?
Yes, this commentary is usually not written in a controversial way, and believe it or not, what is written here is not meant to sway anyone reading it to this point of view. I just do not know how anyone could possibly believe that WWJD would be pro-choice? If abortion would have been legal in Jesus’ time, then it could have been Mary’s Choice to end her unusual pregnancy. It would have been a lot more convenient for Mary and Joseph to end her out-of-wedlock pregnancy! Then the neighbors and relatives would have been happier too! Well if Jesus had been aborted, then there is that minor problem, we would not have had a Savior of the world!
Today we hear a question of when the fetus is actually a human being, and some people assert that killing a fetus is okay, but killing a human baby is murder. Some of those same people do not place the same restrictions on the killing of animals by saying how old the egg must be before it is an eagle. The Psalmist wrote about the creation of each human embryo/baby developing in the mother’s womb. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (Psalm 139:13-14) Each human embryo, if nurtured and allowed to be delivered is absolutely a human being! Not always perfect, well actually, never perfect, but always still recognized as a human baby!
I do not know why I wrote this today, I did not plan to write on this subject, but it just happened. For anyone reading this who may be offended, please let me know what part was most offensive to you. I always desire to present my best understanding of God’s Word when writing these commentaries, but sometimes my interpretation may be different than yours. Sometimes we must just take God’s Word on an issue instead of the politically correct view. After all, God is never wrong, and sometimes we human beings need to keep that in mind, and just do what God tells us to do! There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. (Proverbs 14:12) We now have a Savior through His grace we are saved, but we should desire to not offend Him through our beliefs and actions!
It seems appropriate to end this commentary where it started, but using a different translation of what Paul wrote in Romans. Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. (Romans 12:9-10, NLT) When does human love start? Our babies are not born helpless by chance. It is part of God’s plan for His Special Creation.
Capital punishment is based on God’s Word about taking the life of a human being. Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man. (Genesis 9:6) All human beings are made in the image and likeness of God!
Your brother in life through Adam, your brother in eternity through Jesus,
