The Bible (God’s Word) Tells Us We Are Descendants Of Adam And Eve.
Acts 4:12 (NIV)
Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
Most of the people living on this earth today do not believe what the writer of Acts wrote, and some of them may share a pew with you at the church of your choice. You may be wondering why then this verse was chosen as the key for today’s commentary? I chose it because I have been convinced this statement is truly reflective of God Word. There is one God thus it makes sense that God would only offer one plan for allowing entry into heaven, when a person dies and leaves this evil cursed world. God has also told us that God the Father will only accept being into heave that have remained sinless, or that He has decided to forgive them of all their sins!
Following is the selected verse in context of what the writer of Acts received from God to be written. If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. He is "‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.’ Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:9-12).
Peter and John had healed a lame man through the power given them from Jesus Christ, and now they are being questioned by the Sanhedrin, trying to ascertain how the healing was done. Their bigger concern was what Peter and John were preaching to the people about Jesus. The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. They seized Peter and John, and because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. But many who heard the message believed, and the number of men grew to about five thousand. (Acts 4:1-4).
Thus, about five thousand Jewish families had turned to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and they would be leaving the Jewish faith and turning toward the Way or to Christianity! It is important to note that the Sadducees where basically atheists and they did not believe in the resurrection of the dead. The other members of the Sanhedrin were the Pharisees, and they did believe in the resurrection of the dead. Still in this world today there are those who believe in the God of the Bible, and there are those who believe in another god or gods, which are followed by mankind and their belief will not direct them to heaven when they die and leave this mortal cursed world.
Jesus Christ came into this world to live as a member of mankind, and yet, He was the Son of Man and He lived as a man. Then Jesus was offered as the perfect sacrifice required by God the Father to wipe away all the sins people commit in this cursed mortal world, and to supply atonement for those sins, and Jesus died in this mortal world was buried, and He rose again, as the Son of God. This mission was required by God and was only fulfilled one time, and there is no substitute allowed by God to fulfill this absolute order of submission to the will of God that would result in salvation to be granted by God the Father!
Today’s key verse says it all! Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. God has kept it very simple by offering only one Way for mankind to be cleaned up enough to be tolerable to a Holy, Holy, Holy God, and to remain forever with Him in the Paradise of God. To be sure mankind can know this account, God had selected men to write what He directed them to write and make this historical account available to all of mankind in one book, which of course, is called the Bible. Then when Jesus was leaving this world, He helped ensure that this accounting could be followed accurately, so He left behind in this mortal cursed world the Holy Spirit.
To get the help of the Holy Spirit so we can come to know Jesus Christ, all that is required is for you to believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of this world. As previously stated, very few people profess Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior, thus those people do not believe in Jesus Christ. Many people do not show any real interest in claiming to follow any god or gods, as they cling to only worldly things they can see and touch. Such people have no interest in considering that there is any reality outside of this world!
It seems that is to whom the following comments were written by Paul. The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:18-20). Paul wrote that unbelief is so asinine, because there must be some type of design and control far beyond mother nature creating everything seen and unseen, by some accidental phenomenon!
We are surrounded by the teaching of the evolutionary process which eliminates the need for a Creator or God or god or gods! Even though there is no evidence for this being possible! This is the description of blind faith! It takes a faith that is totally blind to believe in the impossible. What do you believe? The Bible tells us we are a Special Creation of Jesus Christ, and mankind was immediately able to conceive and give birth to a baby that has an immortal soul created in the image and likeness of God. No animal has an immortal soul! This is what I believe! What do you believe about the fabric of mankind?
