Jesus Said, You Should Not Be Surprised At My Saying, “You Must Be Born Again.”
Galatians 2:20-21 (NIV)
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!
I borrowed the following paragraph from a blog because it makes some astounding statements, which I believe to be true! I highlighted some lines in BOLD for emphasis.
A recent survey from LifeWay Research for Ligonier Ministries found that a shocking 30% of those considered evangelical believers said Jesus was a “good teacher, but he was not God”—in stark contrast to what the Bible teaches! Perhaps even more shocking, 65%—that’s right 2 in 3 “evangelicals” answered that “Jesus is the first and greatest being created by God.” Such a belief has been condemned as heresy by the church for centuries because it runs contrary to what God’s Word clearly teaches (see, for example, John 1). And yet more than 2 in 3 believers chose that option. What a mess the church is in!
I once had a man tell me that he was a Christian, but he did not believe that Jesus rose from the dead! I immediately told him that he was thus not a Christian. In the selected verses under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit Paul wrote about how he died to the world, and was born again as a follower of Jesus Christ, and that he, Paul now lived through faith as a new creation to now follow Jesus and to now be an alien living in this cursed world until death will release him to be with Jesus eternally. Without being born again when we die our immortal soul will be headed for the second death, and it will end up in the lake of fire or hell. This is what I believe! What do you believe?
I am going to let Jesus tell Nicodemus and us about being born again. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit John wrote the following of the account of Jesus teaching Nicodemus what being born again came about. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
"How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. "You are Israel’s teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?” (John 3:7-12).
All members of mankind are cursed to die, because of the original sin of Adam, when we die only our cursed body dies. Our immortal soul does not die, as it lives on for eternity. Those who are born again or twice born only die once as their mortal body dies, and their second life begins, and they will be with Jesus for eternity. However, those who have not been born again will not be directed by Jesus to where He is, and instead they will be directed by Satan to where he will be for eternity. Choose Jesus choose life or do not choose Jesus and opt for Satan and the second death!
Jesus then told Nicodemus about why He came into this cursed world to offer salvation to all those who will choose Him to be their Lord and Savior. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:16-18). The Bible tells us that Jesus can only offer salvation if He is the Son of God. Jesus is not a created angel as the Jehovah Witnesses teach! You must believe He is the Son of God for your immortal soul to be saved and be taken to where Jesus is, when you leave this lifetime!
John the Baptist was sent ahead of Jesus to prepare the way for Jesus and His earthly ministry. John’s followers wondered about who Jesus was and why He was now gaining followers. They came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—well, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him." To this John replied, "A man can receive only what is given him from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him.’ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
He must become greater; I must become less. "The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no-one accepts his testimony. The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.
For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him." (John 3:26-36).
As John the Baptist puts very directly, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life.” While all of mankind has been created by God with an immortal soul made in the image and likeness of God, their immortal soul will only see God if their immortal soul is devoted to Jesus Christ and follows Him in this lifetime. This promise should be repeated here, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life!” Then there is the downside too, which should be repeated too, “but whoever rejects the Son will not see life.”
Please believe it following Jesus Christ is the only Way to leave this immortal life and immediately have Jesus come to show you the Way to where He is, and you get to be with Him for all eternity. Remember again the promises of my Lord and Savior. Is He your lord and Savior too? You do know the Way to find Him! Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (John 14:5-7).
Jesus said, you should not be surprised at my saying, “you must be born again.”
