He is Risen Indeed!
John 5:24 (NIV)
“I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”
Have you “crossed over from death to life?” Is this statement presented backward? In this world we first have life, and then eventually we die! Of course, what Jesus is referring to when He says, that whoever believes in Him and what His mission was on this earth, will not be condemned to go to hell, but “he has crossed over from death to life.” When you first believed, then you are born again, and placed on the narrow path that leads you to heaven.
Can you believe it is Easter again? For family fun it is a time of brightly colored eggs and the easter bunny, and hiding the eggs so the children can have fun finding them. However, the real joy for Christians is once again celebrating the FACT that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is alive again and back with Our Father in heaven. Since Jesus rose from the dead it marks a time in history when members of mankind can be assured that when you die in this mortal world, your immortal soul is released to go join Jesus Christ in heaven!
Can you believe this two-thousand-year-old account recorded in our Bible? Even the disciples who lived with Jesus for almost three years had some trouble accepting the fact that Jesus arose, and some wanted more proof. Thomas, sometimes called doubting Thomas, had some doubts about this resurrection. Only after he saw Jesus and touched Him did he believe! Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:28-31).
So, we are in that group of people now on this earth who did not yet get a chance to speak to and touch the risen Savior of the world. Therefore, we must have a strong faith in the biblical accounts recorded for us by those who did live with Jesus Christ on this earth! I absolutely believe that Jesus walked this earth and died to supply the atonement necessary for me to go to heaven when my mortal life ends. What do you believe? Its all recorded in the Word of God, AKA the Bible! Have you studied it? If you are still breathing it is not too late to avoid going to hell when you die!
Let us keep this commentary simple as possible and just read some of the recorded messages about your salvation offers. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13-14). Your salvation is available to you. So, be happy about it. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
The sting of death that will result in your immortal soul being cast into hell when you die, has been eliminated, if you believe and follow Jesus Christ. "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). If you believe and try to become more Christ-like then, “thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Do you feel the victory that Jesus paid ahead for you?
This commentary must include a resurrection account, this one is given in the Gospel of Mark.
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don’t be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. (Mark 16:1-6).
Your body will be left on this mortal earth, but Jesus’ body was raised from the dead, and if you believe it, you will see Him some day in heaven! Have confidence in the account given us in God’s Word. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58).
If you have become a follower of Jesus Christ in this mortal world, then you have been assigned a place in heaven for your immortal soul to reside! Jesus Christ promised to prepare your spot in heaven! "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (John 14:1-3).
I believe Jesus will be coming to escort me to heaven to meet with Our Father in heaven, when it is may time to be awarded heaven! Salvation is only available through the grace of God it cannot be earned in this mortal lifetime. Has Jesus prepared a place for you there?
He is Risen Indeed!
Wishing you and your loved ones,
Happy Easter!
