The Future Looks Great If You Are A Believer In Jesus Christ!
Romans 5:8 (NIV)
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
People are easily swayed by suggestions of how things are, if/when the information presented agrees with their preconceived ideas! This description is more slanted toward deep thinkers! Then there are those people who do not want to be confused with the facts, as they have already decided! Then there are the rest who just do not care much about what is going on in this world, they will just try to agree with the squeaking wheel, they are easily swayed as they have not taken enough time studying whatever information is available to them! Many professing Christians have never studied our Bible! The library God gave us to describe the creation and maintenance of the universe He created just for us.
God accepts us as we are, but He does not want us to remain living in a sinful status, so He sent the Son of Man into our world without requiring us to accept this gift of salvation. As the selected verse states, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This salvation plan must be automatic and a free gift, as we are all born as sinners, thus there is no Way for us to become good enough for God to allow us to live with Him in heaven! We are blessed by God with a free will allowing us the ability to choose to follow Jesus Christ to obtain this gift of salvation!
Salvation is a kind of circular reasoning as it requires you to have faith in the promises of God before you can fulfill the requirements. But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (Romans 10:8-10). To be saved you must become a believer first, that is, that you develop a faith before you become willing to believe the accounts given in our Bible. Then you may choose to “confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
As mankind is inclined to do, we have made this simple process into a complex issue by clouding the Biblical accounts into stories, which then many people are allowing themselves to make these accounts given by God to us as possibly myths instead of making them the believable Word of God! Living in this cursed world and harboring a sinful nature we believe more what we see as the truth instead of seeking guidance through the Holy Spirit. Jesus warned us about who we chose to follow in this world. No-one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. (Matthew 6:24).
Paul wrote about this love of money or earthly possessions for Timothy and for us! For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. (1Timothy 6:10). Notice it says, “all kinds of evil!” It does not say all evil! Thus, the love of money is one kind of evil, it is not the only evil love we may have in this cursed world. As an example, the love of sexual relations has driven us to murder developing babies that God gave life by aborting the baby before it can fully develop to get rid of unwanted consequences of our pleasure.
Now what about some of the promises of God available to those who choose to become followers of Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17). Have you accepted this salvation offer from God the Father?
The promise of Jesus Christ as He was leaving this world and going back to heaven was leave the Holy Spirit behind on this earth. Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: "‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ (Acts 2:14-17, 21). This is recorded to emphasize that the Holy Spirit came upon these disciples and is available to all believers!
I always thought that when Peter and these other disciples were understood by many people who spoke different languishes was that as the Holy Spirit came upon them, they were speaking the language which will be spoken in heaven. God/Jesus is the creator of all languages that will ever be spoken. At the tower of Babel God assigned many different languages, as at that time they all spoken the language Noah brought into this world after the Flood! When believers go to heaven, we will all know this language of God.
There will come a time when Jesus Christ will return to this earth and rapture all the believers who still live on the earth and take them back with Him to the rooms He has prepared in heaven. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Thus, all the believers in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will accompany Him to heaven.
These are just a few of the promises of God that we can study in our Bible; it supplies many other promises you can read that are planned for all those who believe. Read first all such promises that God has already fulfilled, which helps us have faith that those yet to be fulfilled will in fact happen. The future looks great if you are a believer in Jesus Christ! What a friend we have in Jesus! We have become members of His family!
