Believe Your Future Is Assured Through The Perfect Sacrifice Jesus Made On Your Behalf!
John 3:16-17 (NIV)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
The current world outlook is rather grim, as we constantly hear warnings about our safety, which depends on pulling back from participation in normal day-to-day activities. We are being told to stay at home, and even in our home it is suggested we allow six feet between ourselves and anyone else who is present in our house. We are also told to not invite anyone to come into our house. It is not a time to invite anyone to come over for a visit! Any contact with other people is dangerous to our health, and it could lead to our death! For those of who regularly attend the church of our choice every Sunday, it is now forbidden to us, and it makes the weeks seem never ending. The weekend is no different than the next day of the week! It causes us to become confused as the what day of the week each today is! Remember, at this strange time that Jesus came into this world to give us a wonderful gift of everlasting life. Jesus assures those who choose to follow Him that your immortal soul will never die!
We cling to this mortal life, which God has given us, and some people believe it is the only life you have. Please believe it, this idea is not true! It is true that this earthly lifetime is limited, because of the curse brought into God’s perfect world by the sin committed by Adam and Eve. However, Jesus came into this world to die for our sins, so that we can go to heaven when we die to this mortal life. Jesus also was raised from the dead to prove that He being the first member of mankind to be raised from the dead, so we can believe that we too will be raised from the dead into immortal life, and then, to continue to be living with God in heaven forever! Even though we believe life in this cursed world is limited and difficult, but hopefully we all cling to it, because God has allowed our lives to still be wonderful times of having other people who love us and they want to help us to enjoy this short lifetime! Remember your family members during this time, and stay in contact with them through remote communication devices. To me that family is extended by all those who share in the body of Christ around this world, and especially by those who attend our local church!
James wrote about this shortness of a lifetime and the fact that no one is guaranteed to be alive tomorrow in this cursed world. Everything we will ever do in this world is accomplished in a “today!” None of us are guaranteed tomorrow in this cursed world! Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that." As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins. (James 4:13-17). No one is guaranteed tomorrow in this world! However, Jesus came into this cursed world to offer all those who choose to follow Him eternal life and to spend eternity with Him in heaven.
Jesus is the only Son of God and He is the only Way for members of mankind to leave this earth through death and immediately join Jesus in heaven! Have you asked Jesus into your life by believing He is the Savior of this world, if you have not already accepted this wonderful gift, it would be a great time to get that commitment done! Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:18). Take note of the second part of this statement from Jesus, where He says, “whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” There is only one way to be saved from this sin-filled world, and that Way is Jesus! This is a difficult teaching, as it demonizes any other belief system in this cursed world. It is important too to realize the potential power that followers of Jesus may possess.
Jesus often taught His disciples about the power they gain by following Him! After Jesus offered to heal the son of a man who asked for Jesus to use His healing power. The man described how a demon possessed his son, and what was happened to his son. "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." "‘If you can’?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:22-24). Most of us reading this are somewhat like this man, we believe, but we struggle to really believe that Jesus will give His healing power to heal someone who are praying for! We believe, but we still struggle with a weak belief, or maybe we are not sure if Jesus really hears our prayer and thus heals the one whom we are praying for. What about you, do you believe you could heal someone through the power Jesus supplies to us? Is your belief stronger than your unbelief?
Paul wrote about good works that God has prepared for His followers to do, could these good works allow us to be able to heal other people? Jesus often told His disciples to not fear and to believe they could do good works, if they just had a faith, even a weak faith! For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no-one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10). God has prepared some good works for you (us) to do, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” During this time of great distress maybe this is one of those times when we as followers of Jesus Christ we may be able to do some miraculous good works!
Look to God for guidance and direction for how you may be able to help other people who may require help with unusual situations that we are currently encountering. Pray for guidance from Jesus for how we can help other people who may not have faith to fall back on! For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). This earth and the problems encountered here are temporary and sometimes seemingly unsolvable, but with God’s help amazing things can be done and we can pray for His help, and we should expect something good to happen! With God’s help you may be able to perform miracles, if your faith is stronger than your unbelief! Pray about how you might be able to help. Pray also for your protection from this world’s pandemic! Believe your future is assured through the perfect sacrifice Jesus made on your behalf!
