Jesus Christ Offered The Perfect Sacrifice Required By God To Forgive All Your Sins!
1 Corinthians 2:13-14 (NIV)
This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Do you try to live and believe the truth based on the knowledge you have amassed through your study of God’s Word, AKA your Bible, or do you seek the truth the amassed knowledge of mankind? We all have been given life from God through the creation of our immortal soul, however, we all also have inherited a sinful nature through the curse known as the Fall of Man. That first sin in the Garden of Eden caused God to curse mankind by giving us a sinful nature, which remains within in us, and causes us to want to rebel against submitting to God’s will for us in this cursed world.
The only way for you (us) to be able to lessen the pull toward our sinful nature is to become believers who work to follow Jesus Christ. Any other attempts to live in this cursed world will result in us being unable to become spiritually directed, and thus unable to “accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to (you).” Without the Holy Spirit residing in your heart, you will not perceive “the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to (you), and (you) cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
So, before we can be expected to do what God’s will is for us, we must first allow the Holy Spirit to indwell us so that with His help we can become more Christ-like every day! Being a professing Christian requires us to try to stay connected to this Holy Spirit. As the selected verses state, “This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.” The writer of Hebrews wrote, So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. (Hebrews 10:35-36). Remember, the will of God/Jesus is that ALL mankind would become followers and thus end up in heaven.
Jesus told His disciples to concentrate our efforts to “seek first his kingdom!’ Jesus Said, “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:31-33). Your worldly possessions should result as a reward from Jesus because you have chosen Him as your Lord and Savior!
Choosing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior may put you into a thought process that will not appeal to other people who have chosen to follow some member of mankind, or even to decide for themselves they feel no need of salvation! Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12). Some people have chosen to follow the religion of humanism, as they have come to believe that there is no god or gods, or some just doubt that there is a god or gods, and thus they believe there is not award of heaven coming when they die in this cursed world.
The writer of Hebrews wrote about non-believers and what a rude surprise there is coming to them when they die. For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:30-31). Believers are looking forward to their death because we believe we will leave this cursed world, and Jesus will come a take us with Him the place He has prepared for us in heaven! But non-believers are going to meet with the demons who will direct them the way into hell! That is why he wrote, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” God is alive and real, and it is now too late for this non-believer to claim the free gift award of heaven and spending eternity with Jesus Christ!
Paul wrote about false prophets in the early church who were misguiding attendees. And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. (2 Corinthians 11:12-15). We should never fear that we would unintentionally mis-guide someone by our witness about how having Jesus Christ in our life has greatly improved our attitude about living in this cursed world.
Remember Jesus issued a command to His followers to tell His story and to teach others about the great award of the free gift of heaven. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:16-20).
Remember in this cursed world there are always going to be doubters of your account of how Jesus Christ offered the perfect sacrifice required by God to forgive all your sins, if you claim this perfect sacrifice as your salvation, even though in this world you are still considered by God to be a sinner, your immortal soul will appear before God with Jesus and you will look like Him! To His followers Jesus said, “surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
